5:16 Seen 'em twice! I almost cry with joy at the end when Squire calls with the riff that Mani answers on bass. A more perfect finish to a song never occurred.

His singing *is* really good here. Maybe he just lets his guard down when there's a big audience and doesn't focus. Or maybe he just can't hear himself. In any event, the man can sing, so stop hating.

Even if you apply a 100% reverb and delay, it still won't affect the pitch or the tone of the vocal one bit. And anyway the reverb and delay is used moderately on most songs, check out ,Going Down, as an example, compared to say 'a Day in the Life' by the beatles, this has far more.

I love the Stone Roses and Brownie, and his brilliant lyrics. But with the best will in the world, those who are saying he sounds great or "perfectly in tune" here need there ears examined. I wouldn't change the bloke for the world, but he's completely tuneless. Always has been.

Heh. Do you mean the studio recordings? The studio recordings that use more Reverb and Delay than any other major artist that I know of, are triple-tracked, and layered with Reni's vocal to pull it in line? I know it feels like puching kittens to say it, but the simple fact of the matter is the boy can't hold a tune. He's consistently a semi-tone flat and loses the key all over the place at times. It's testament to their tunes that they carry him, but let's not kid ourselves. One Love.

Ian Brown is a vocalist...not a singer, learn the difference before you hop onto KZfaq and talk smack. Come back when YOU are remembered as a part of a band that defined a generation, wrote one of the best debut albums of all time, and can STILL...twenty years on, fill any place the choose to play.
