I'm glad that she's dismissing his "ultimatum" claims and clarified that she didn't force him to propose, but that he wanted to. A man should never feel like he has to propose bc the woman wants him to. Do it bc you want to. Do it bc you love that person and want to spend the rest of your life with them. bc if you do it for the wrong reasons you will end up resenting the person you've made your spouse. Dont blame her. Blame yourself

If a man said a women gave TWO ultimatums not 0 it means it was most likely FOUR Women don’t like admitting these things because they just want a man to want to marry them.. & sometimes that’s not the case you hear these convos a lot nowadays cuz some women still want to get married & most men don’t now.. yet they want to be perceived as the cool girl & the down for whatever chick in the same breathe This was also proven when she had to correct him on saying I HAD to vs I WANTED to when it came to marrying her. No judgement to the couple.. but the 15 yrs is a reason not choice

its all about supporting each other. Some saying they wouldnt have waited so long, it wasn't about him not knowing she was for him, it was him wanting to do what was good for him and following his dreams and getting them accomplished. She supported that and that's what you are supposed to do when you love each other. It took 10 years for me and my husband to get married because we wanted to finish college before we got married. We knew we would get there and now 20 years later we are still strong. When you are ready and not forced, it will work if it's meant to :)

My husband and I were together 11 years prior to getting married. We had priorities to sort out first. I have a preexisting medical condition so I had to be sure I could continue to be insured and financially stable. I stayed on my parents insurance and finished college and then worked for a few years and got insurance through my job. My husband went to college for awhile and eventually ended up getting a factory job for a few years before we got married so we were both insured and able to pay our bills. He's got a better paying and less physically demanding job now and I'm able to stay home with our kids. It's a blessing.

You have to sort out things for yourself and your own future and your partner has to do the same and when both are ready to build a life together, and not make each other miserable, then get married. So I agree with your choices and decision :) Marriage isn't a joke and being together in life isn't a joke as well especially if both already have a another life taking care of. Be stable then do the biggest decisions in life.

Yes! And he was emotionally connected with his dad's advice, to marry when he could support s family. So, Dad played a role. And so perhaps that made him a bit apprehensive about trusting himself as the provider, - not being prepared to fail. So, he waited until he came to terms, with his personal expectations. Probably realized, that it was ok to grab the gusto & say, Cheers Dad!!! I'll make it. We'll make it! I'm happy for him. I'm thrilled for her! Congratulations to both! Stay brave young man! You've got this!!! Beautiful Bride! No need to tie his shoes together at night. He's not going anywhere! You lucky girl! You lucky guy! Y'all have fun! Go outside & plant a garden. Fellas… when a woman is that loyal to you for THAT long with no real commitment from you PLEASE STOP calling it pressure/ultimatum. That woman has every right to vocalize her boundaries. Because if she never stated them, and decided to pack her ish and leave on day #5,476 (15yrs+1day) then you’d be saying it came out of nowhere and she never gave you a chance. Y’all will make a woman wait for over a decade of her life and then tell her about “hitting the wall” as she approaches 35yo. It’s gaslighting. Nobody is obligated to wait on you that long while you prioritize everything else in life before her.

If you can find someone who sticks with you through major life events such as a family loss, that's rare. Depression sets in and the relationship changes. It sounds like they talked things through before he went to grad school, hence the delay in marriage. That might not have worked for anyone else, but it worked for them. Cheers to them! 🥂

You're so right about the depression comment. One year I experienced 4 deaths within a 5-6 month time-frame (1 close friend and 3 family members) and it caused me to go into a depression because I was getting hit heavily back to back. My ex cheated on me during that time and told me that I was a horrible girlfriend and that I was being dramatic and needed to get over the deaths because "people die everyday." The one time that I've ever spoken out about this situation I was told by multiple men that I deserved it and that they hoped that I had learned a lesson about being selfish. 😕😕 Sorry for the rant, I just needed to express myself.

We almost have the same story. My now husband and I got together in 2013. In 2015 his dad was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and January 5th 2016 he passed away. My husband was in college and working. School was put on hold for a few months while we grieved and moved in with his mom. He decided to quit his job and finish school full time. He graduated in 2017 to end up working a cs job for an internet company for 15 months when he finally started his career in IT. We decided to get married earlier this year. May 2023 will be 10 years together and February will be 1 year married. ❤

We were only 6 weeks engaged. We then had two church ceremonies 3 years later….thanks COVID. One ceremony was in his country, one was in mine. If it’s just about tying the knot, an unpretentious court house ceremony could have happened anytime. Same story in a sense here. As I see many more below. I am about to hit 14 years in my relationship we have 5 beautiful boys just did things ass backwards but boy have we grown together, hurt together, and overcame together ❤️ love is love and that's to be celebrated. I died laughing and I wish I had came up with this genius idea for my wedding because it took us 15 years and 3 children before we finally made it to the alter and we were together 17 more years before he died from cancer(exposure to asbestos at work) I miss him every day and he would have loved this video so thank you for making me laugh for the first time in 13 years( he passed 13 years ago)

If women truly want marriage why do so many of us spend years waiting for someone to marry us? All I hear is men talking about we lose value with age so why are we wasting so many years with them without a true commitment?

Please Don't compare. Every Relationship is Unique. *They have something Special* that made it work. Both wanted the same things and *they knew they'd get Married* after he got his Doctorate Degree,* doing what his Dad told him- _"Make Sure You Can Support a Family."_ *It wasn't One-Sided* he was interested this whole time and they communicate & were on the same page about the Future. It's different with Couples like them. *Most Couples grow Apart & Break-Up after 10-15yrs of the one who was hoping for a commitment wasted*_ their time Or the Marriage only last 8-10yrs because the Relationship ran its Course by the time they finally got Married. So please be Careful. A lot of men out there who really rather move on with someone else will go through with the Wedding simply because the Woman wanted to since they've been together a long time. *These 2 were meant for each other,* knew it and had a Plan. His Dad loved her and he meant a lot to her as well.
