Vergil chair has been a meme before that, did you not see the comment section of that video? see how many people referencing "storm that is approaching" which is from Vergil's DMC5 character OST. Hell, the title of those videos are "I am the storm that is approaching." A 0lastic chair wouldn't have been associated with Vergil in the first place if not for the Vergil Chair original video.

Edited: GENESIS (false story): The idea of replacing a tree chair, by using a plastic chair model first begins at the 2nd mission of DMC5, when you exploring a hotel. After exiting a hotel, you enter a restaurant section what is full of plastic tables, plastic chairs and big umberelas. Some people in a break between actons decides to ruin this secton by destroing all of furniture. But when it happens, they all starting to notice "that one plastic chair" what cannot be destroyed by anything. Even in "Vergil mode" "this one plastic chair" stays indestructable. It was that moment, where all the jokes about "chair being worthy of Vergil" started to be born and together with that - Idea of replacing "tree chair" model with "plastic chair" model in "mission's 19" cutscene. Some time later and right on time, some of the YT audience who was a possessors of similar chairs, started to record them durning a storms/hurracaines to see how they act. One video with plastic chair resisting the winds of the storm was enough to turn it viral and comlete a meme in eyes of those who also saw DMC5 jokes about it. Edit: (true story): this was in fact started on discord server. For some time I was believing in story above. My bad.

The picture of the mod posted on Discord is before the "indestructible chair" meme from Mission 2, so the idea in fact did not come from that and there weren't any memes related to the chair before that picture. Also, all the chairs in that mission can be destroyed. Some sort of modding was used to make an indestructible chair for that video.

On "Nexus Mods" a mod with plastic chair for mission 19 cutscene has been uploaded at 23 september 2020, and a video called "Vergil finds a true chair" was uploaded at 21 december 2020, and even creator of this video confirmed by replying to one user, that this all indeed started on discord. So... You are right. My bad. Thanks for correcting me.

The plastic chair has a deeper history. Originaly the chair meme started when a video surfaced where vergil does a full combo on an enemy and a single plastic chair survives. Said player then tries every single attack against that chair and it remains undamaged and around the same time a video of a chair surviving a storm appears which fits perfectly with the meme. Hence why vergil chooses his throne to be the unbreakable plastic chair
