Right? I've been loving this game, I'm not fully understanding all the hate. Especially since everyone gave Destiny 1 a fair shot, and it had far less content and far more problems than Anthem!

I was impressed with Destiny's lore, but thought the game was dogshit. Opinions are opinions. Everyone's got one and there are no safe spaces if people disagree with you. If Dragon Age 4 sucks I'd point fingers at Bioware/EA and their decisions. They take responsibility for their products, not gamers.

Some of you seem confused and it leads me to believe, that like many other people you're just saying what you've heard about the game. IE: EA will ruin this, EA that. EA is just the publisher, perhaps you don't know what that means and you should pop over to Google real quick. Gamers get stuck in this weird ass herd mentality where whoever the hot game critics are at the moment are hailed as Gods, and we just constantly repeat their opinions instead of our own. Which is why I'm so baffled at the overwhelming negativity surrounding Anthem. And the major complaints don't actually scratch the surface of what the game actually has to offer. Long load screens? Sure, maybe a tad. But Skyrim's are longer and it's been released like 6 different times, no mass crying. Game is short, not worth the money? No, not even close accurate. When in first finished the main quest I had played 24 hours and barely scratched the surface of offered content, and 24 hours already meant I got ny money's worth. People will spend $15 at a theater to see an half and a half movie. That 4 movie tickets for $60 and is only 6 hours on entertainment, far less than the time it took to complete the main quest alone. Yet no one is losing their shit about movie theaters. Game breaking bugs? No, no, no. Every game ever made has had it bugs here and there, Anthem is no different than the majority of other games in that regard. Literally. We're in a time where everyone just needs to be complaining abouy something. I've been on KZfaq long enough to know that gamers as a whole are impossible to please. People think they're giving it to EA by sheeping the same overused opinion about a game when really EA has jack shit to do with what the game is. It is Bioware who will be punished in this simply incorrect crusade and if they go then bye bye Dragon Age. So yes, my original comment still stands.

I think people wanted more content and more ways to play the game. Destiny had PvP and endgame PvE content on launch plus timed events and a raid immediately after launch.

I’m not saying it is complete or perfect, just that it is not, at this point, anywhere near being abandoned, quite the opposite, actually. They have not just talked, they have released client and server side patches consistently since launch.

Marc Evensen At the moment when they released “Half Product” they are not anymore BioWare like years ago when they made games with great story and good gameplay, now we got game that is more like DEMO than game or like Star Citizen - nice looking cash grab. They can talk about repairing the game but there is just Nothing to play ! I got max gear and done everything hundred times now with every javelin:/

The Ashen Hollow Sorry I wasn't very clear. I personally think they're both bad, the difference being Destiny came out however many years ago now and Anthem seems to have advanced hardly at all from what Bungie established for the 'genre' other than satisfying movement. The 'open' world is empty with no incentive to explore it, it could have the best story in gaming to back it up and it still wouldn't be worth slogging through the game to discover it. I am glad you're here so people can experience it though and judge the world building independent of the gameplay.

No incentives to explore? That's how I've uncovered a majority of the lore in the game. So I'm confused as to what you're saying. The incentive is there, and the game is in a far better place than Destiny was when it launched. Not to mention all of the free updates they have planned within the next 90 days alone. Anthem's open world has a ton to discover and seek out, there's tons of things to do in Freeplay as well. Have you played the game? I'm just confused about the points you're trying to make? O_o

How much of the game have you played? There are TONS of lore codex's around the world that fill in history and plot points. This is a very deeply written story if you take the time to explore it's world and uncover it.

@@TheAshenHollow so when is any of that experienced in the actual gameplay? I could read a wikipedia page and be done here. I want to experience that amazing story you talk about in the game not in a text menu or an narration. Take all these great things and apply them to the game. Remember Halo when characters said the ring must be fired to destroy the flood? That has impact because we as the player have experienced the horrific force of the flood over and over and over again to understand the stakes. Look at RE 2 when the lobby a save room is now running around with zombies or even a game like Undertale wipes out an entire civilization. Game stories are most effective and enioyable when we as players experience the ramifications in game not given vague cutscene antics to hang onto.

If you can't enjoy something because it doesn't live up to the way you would have done it, then idk what to tell you, my guy. I'm enthralled with the world, characters and story Anthem has created. If you can't get there, then you just can't I suppose.

@@TheAshenHollow It's alright to enjoy Anthem just don't expect everyone to agree it's well put together when they can explain design choices that are detrimental to the game. Dont sit there and say Im at fault just because I dont have your bias.

I'm not telling you that you have to agree. I'm telling you that you're incorrect in your assessment in saying they did nothing to develop the world and that it's lazy story telling. Because they absolutely did, and it is not. You can not like the world or story, but it's still there. So I am faulting you for say something that was wrong, not faulting you for whether you enjoyed it or not.
