This is without doubt the hardest video I have ever made. It's a story I have tried to tell but just couldn't complete and one that so many of you have asked me to tell.
So here it is - this is the story of Bailey.

For me it was my great dane x Italian mastiff. She was brought back to the breeder after a few weeks and I had to have her. Hard to teach the basics, peed in the house until she learned to stand at the door to be let out. My wife had a fit a year after and she wanted to rehome all dogs... I told her I rather take Mara and move out. She lived till age 8, half blind, spoilt rotten and ripped my heart out when lung cancer got her. The new dog tries, but has big paws to fill. He will get there in my heart.

We are lucky enough to have a Collie, rescued from Ireland in 2010, she only weighed 12kg and had loads of health problems. 13 years on she’s closer to 23kg ( her correct weight) and still manages to drag us on two 3 or 4 mile walks a day. Most rewarding, loyal and best mate we have. Thanks for sharing why you do what you do.

Aw Mucker, I'm sitting in tears listening to Bailey's story. I have a Bailey here beside me, and she was found dumped on a grass verge along a country road when she was just a little pup. I rescued her, it's 8 years ago now and like you said she lets me know every day how much it meant to be rescued. A dog knows a good person and thanks for helping those dogs.

Brought tears to my eyes for 2 reasons. First for Bailey, no dog or animal should have to suffer like that, good on you Mucker for the support you gave, to give Bailey a chance to be loved again, and enjoy the last year of his time here. Having lost my German Shepheard 2 months ago I know how hard this is for you even now. he was a rescue, never abused but loved, at 14 months they could not exercise him enough, so rehomed him, we had lost ours and fell in love with him. He spent 11 years at work with me in gardens (one 9acres) he was a clown, loving and so gentle with young kids, tennis ball mad, my customers loved him, even allowed him indoors. he too has left a large hole in my life. Keep up your great work for the collies.

I lost my wife 3/4/23 married 52 year's, we have had 13 dogs throughout that time, every time you loose one you say no more I'm not going through this again but if it weren't for my 2 healers I don't think I could take the pain of loosing the only thing that gave meaning to me at my age. My prayer is to outlive them to prevent them from going through what dogs like Bailey go through, I wish you well in your path, my wife and I were involved when younger with finding homes for unwanted animals from birds to horses and everything in between. You are a good man.

Thank goodness there are some truly amazing people out there that without a thought put them selves out and take on these poor souls. Angels walk among us. Bailey's story is truly inspiring. Well done for getting through the video buddy, and it hurts because you care. Not something I'd normally watch but I'm so glad I did.

Well done mate. I lost my dog in a million last year after being poorly for 12 months. I have had lots of dogs on the farm over the years but Pig was my dog in a million and like all the others they always tell you when they are ready for rainbow bridge. I am a 50 year old man in floods of tears watching your vid. Really glad no one is here!🙂 exceptfor the collie pup sitting on my feet. I have got a painting of him on the side with his ashes and a cushion with his picture on that my family brought me when he died next to me which goes wherever I go. We took him to Cornwall last week when the kids treated me to a surprise weekend for my 50th. I love your vids and respect what you and all the others do for the dogs. Keep up the good work mate.❤

Mr. Muck, thank you for the tough story. On Sept 11 2020 our black lab “Pitch” was born. He was a dog like I’ve never had the pleasure to spend time with…there have been many over my 60 years. He ran and bicycled with me daily for the past two years and was a huge inspiration for me. 2 weeks ago Pitch became quite sick, he received care at the University of Saskatchewan Vet Med College in Canada. He had an enlarged heart. Pitch passed away shortly after his sickness became apparent. I can’t begin to explain the heartbreak and sadness I feel. Thank you for caring for our canine companions.

I can totally relate to what you are talking about. My sister runs a vet clinic here on our reservation and we operate it as a 501-3-C and rely on donations for meds for all the animals we see. We treat all animals and only have clinic one day a week because she is still working 2 jobs to pay for the bulk of the bills. I am disabled now but donate my time to the clinic scheduling appts and doing paperwork on clinic days. I am 3 weeks out of a total knee replacment and still trying to do clinic work. I am not walking yet and can't carry things yet but am trying.
WHAT SHOULD I ADD TO THE TOOLBOX ?
