when stardust first came out, i already knew the future of super epics was gonna be a disaster. super epics are 1. extremely painful to get now, and 2. its basically like you need to get them everytime they come out, because they are released as "meta" cookies and everyone in arena has them. super epics were probably the main reason i took such a break from cookie run. (sorry for my little rant lmao)

The old super epic gacha was, not only better for getting the cookies, but it was way more personal for the cookie. They had a special gacha animation, they had 8 Items as a pity that related to the cookie, and they were Item gachas as opposed to cookie gachas, which is more unique. You even got a little "tell" that you got the cookie, which was different for each gacha. It just felt way more interesting than the current one, which is just the same gacha recolored for each cookie. The same, weird gem looking pity, the same gacha animation as every other one. The only difference is that the cookies at the beginning of the animation change to fit the theme. Thats IT. They are blending in with the LE (Legend Equivilent) gachas and it really loses the old magic.

This how these rarity’s should be released: Epic cookie each update corresponding to the update theme. Super Epic should be added for fun side story updates like the triple cone cup. Legendaries should be released for bigger updates with lots of lore. Ancients are self explanatory. And the power levels, if this game was following its own lore… well these teams would be completely different. Super epics wouldn’t even be used at that point. But tbh, super epics should only be a slightly better version of epic cookies. They should put back the old banner of getting 8 items which would give you a pity. Ancients, legendaries, and dragons should be the strongest cookies in the game, not super epics.

I don't even know why Sherbet was easier to pull then the next Super-Epics, like his gacha was so much more F2P-friendly then the new one

I don't play Kingdom anymore, but if a rarity which is slightly higher than Epic is more powerful than the top rarities, you pretty much have to either rework them, downgrade them to Epics, or just flat out remove them from the game. Atleast in my eyes.

My biggest complaint is that if you do the math, it's easier to get a legendary cookie than it is to get a super epic if you have no gacha. There are 2 ways to get legendary soulstones, the rainbow shell gallery, and the guild medal shop. They refresh every couple of days and if you grind hard enough you can get a legendary of your own. However, the only way to get super epic soulstones is through the arena medal shop. There are 2 ways to get legendary soulstones, while there is only 1 way to get super epic soulstones. It makes no sense since super epics are meant to be more common than legendaries. My suggestion is to add super epic soulstones to all 3 shops, rainbow shell gallery, arena medal shop, and guild medal shop. Also, make them purchaseable by mileage. Make them 500~1000 mileage each. Sounds like a lot but it would be a nice way to make super epics seem more like the bridge between epics and legendary+. One more thing, instead of soulstones for ancients, legendaries, and dragons, I would like to have a choice chest with 2 random soulstones. Since they're adding so much more of these super rare cookies, it would be nice to have some control over which one to grind soulstones for.

The reason why epics are still present in the meta is the fact that apart from Vanilla there are no healers and supports above epic. Most of the healers and supports are thrown off on epics.

The clotted cream gacha, dare i say, was fun. I managed ro get him to 3 stars during the event completley f2p. The pity was guaranteed, and the event gave a lot of gacha currency. I really liked the idea of super epics, but then stardust appeared and ruined everything, and with every super epic released, it got worse and worse.

I remember when Clotted Cream first came out, I knew this was a way for Devsisters to use super epics as a huge way to encourage pay to win mechanics. And with Crimson Coral + the current state of crk, i WISH the rarity would be a Consul cookie exclusive like some speculated back then. The way I always saw it is that devsisters needed a change or rarity that they could A) release a lot of cookies B) doesnt count towards the arena limits C) not buyable through milage

I’m a very old ex kingdom player, I remember when I was waiting for the servers to release, I saw the part two of black pearl uptade but returning seemed too overwhelming so I didn’t, the sheer quantity of legendary, super epics and a whole new rarity scared me a little 😅

The HARDEST Part about this situation is that, it will never stop. More Super Epics = More money for CRK and they're gonna keep going to release new META Super Cookies until something BAD happens to the game.

even with all of the community's negative feedback towards these groups of cookies, i dont think Devsisters care, in fact they are probably going to release yet ANOTHER super epic during the 2nd or 3rd part of the Golden Cheese Update, or release another Super Epic after the Golden Cheese Update also my theory about the percentage drop after Sherbet's gacha was probably because in the old gacha you can get materials/currency and the featured Super Epic instead of Cookies

Power creep is one of the biggest issues with crk, like you said, all super epics were extremely good on release, even tho they are most definetely not bad, they just kinda get overpowered by more recent cookies, as far as i know the most meta super epics are the most recent ones (shining glitter and crimson coral) plus stardust who was always meta, sherbet was meta for a long time, but now hes still pretty good just not meta, clotted cream and oyster were the first two super epics, so it makes sense the got power crept, but capsaicin was meta on release and in the next update he got immediatly powercrept by pitaya.

Honestly, I think the devs should count both super epics and specials as epic+ cookies, to hopefully have more use from epics.

I can 100% relate as at first having the super-epic wasn't a necessity to have but some time later, DAMN they're OP. And i hate the fact that they're so hard to get And 50% of the time I don't end up getting them in their release for example: Stardust: I didn't play that much at the time (I regret doing that) and Crimson coral, I have been speedrunning missions since her release and im still only at 4.6k/5k which I probably wont reach because Golden Cheese (My beloved) is releasing very soon and I just have to depend on my luck now. Well im just happy i will probably get my Goldy cuz i Most of the time get the Legendary/Ancient/Dragon cookie on their banner with the only exception being black pearl.

I loved them when they were sparse and slightly better than epics, along with them being hard to get but with grinding you CAN. I do think they changed it to where they’re guaranteed again, but the feeling of getting progress through lanterns and relics was always better than a goal number. Especially when we no longer get mileage for it. For the longest time I hated stardust and capsaicin as characters purely because of their banners 😭😭

Tbh I'm not against super epic cookies themselves being in the game but I'm against the new gacha system due to difficulty in getting them. They might be harder to get than epic cookies but they should be easier to get than legendary and ancient cookies not harder. I missed the old gacha system which was better and had a guarantee at least. However, I still missed it when the cycle was 3-6 months as meant but monthly epic+ cookies ? I have them all as an f2p player but come on, how come crimson coral cookie is more broken than stardust cookie and pitaya dragon cookie ?

I just came back from the dead to CRK after,, about a year break? and seeing all these super epics absolutely crush my once strong PVP team is just so,, eye opening. Like yea I could still get to Master 4 in a day, but like every other team I see has a stardust, gold cheese and I just don't challenge them because regardless of power, they're gonna obliterate my team either way. Glad I'm a casual though because I legit could not keep up with the meta atm, could be a me problem tbh but nonetheless, I do share the same sentiments with the rest here.

The dumbest part of the super epics is how to get a pity one in the gacha. Sherbet, Oyster, and Clotted Cream all had good banners that give you an actual chance to get their cookies. Even for FTP players. Like, I pulled Sherbet 7 different times in his event(with the pitys included) and now, I nearly wasn’t able to get Crimson Coral. I nearly didn’t even get up to the pity. That’s how bad the super epic banners are. They’re forcing people to pay money to get the Meta cookie.

You've got one thing about the power of super epics. Individually they are stronger then epics, but trying to use them the same way you would an ancient or dragon wouldn't work. Super Epics fill out the role of tying teams together. They work best when paired with the legendaries/ancients/dragons they want to be paired with or when a team is specifically oriented around their their strengths. Stardust, while powerful is often the first to go down in pitaya/crimson team comps, needing stunners like moonlight to avoid being instantly shut down by enemy attackers. Crimson requires being the only frontline and for the rest of the team to high high attack stats to make full use of her skill. Clotted Cream needs financier to survive being targeted. Oyster needs a summon centric team to work. Shinning Glitter needs a descent support and attack to make use of her skill. Capsaicin requires a fire team or speed nuke team to efficiently work, and Sherbet needs to be protected to fire off his skill more then once. In stark contrast, Many of the Legendary/Ancient/Dragon tier cookies can often be placed in any team an improve it's overall composition. They're broad powerhouses while super epics dominate specific roles, they're often designed as powerful supports to the higher tiers and often result in their lack of presence being a notable hole in the teams comp, they provide a very specific use that's hard to replace, but hard to fill out any other use.

i honestly don't mind the concept of super epics, and i don't mind too much that they can shift the arena meta, after all almost every cookie above epic so far has done so. my main issue lies in the fact they have become so common now combined with the rng based gacha they have. sure, even for a f2p in good circumstance it'd be unlikely for them to not hit the pity but the fact it's even POSSIBLE that they might not reach it is horrific. crimson coral has been horrible though, at least with stardust he didn't forcibly limit what team comps you could use. now with coral it's just "use HER, and HER only." sure we all used hollyberry before this update, but at least she could work at her full potential without limiting the front. use her alone? or with pitaya? or capsaicin? or tea knight? go ahead. i'm not against the concept of a tank that could only work alone in the front but i feel like they should have made it more along the glass cannon route rather than insane defense. alas we're probably going to be seeing devsisters unleash a counter to coral in the future, we've already seen the start of it with jellyfish instant zap and sorbet's magic candy. wish they'd just balance her instead.

Thank you for this video. I just recently got back into CRK and have been doing some research to figure what to concentrate my limited resources on. What this video told me is not to worry overmuch about meta because I’ll never catch up to it without spending serious money. Instead I’ll just keep investing into the cookies I enjoy (like Coffee and Eclair) and let them carry me as far as they can

As someone who has been playing cookie run kingdom ever since Frost Queen's update, i can really say that the super epic banner was WAY better before, Getting Clotted cream, a new rarity recently added, was difficult, but the banner had the pity and most of the time you could get him to 1-2★ after the banner finished (that was my case), he was OP, but not the biggest dps for a pvp team, Oyster pretty much just came to give light to some strategies and summoners team, and finally Sherbet was simply strong, but again, the banner just gave you the possibility of obtaining him if you were lucky/unlucky enough, i got all of them to 2★ at the end of their banners. I directly took a break from CRK after stardust dropped because i didn't like the new banner style, and just came back at the ending of the triple cone update, though I still can get most of the new Super Epics to at least 1★ by grinding A LOT.

I thought the Super Epics and their gachas were pretty unique when they came out, but when Stardust was released I knew it was doomed.

In terms of pvp they should suggest teams from players that have spent almost to no money while for the players who spent a lot of money get suggested other play that also spend a lot of money

i've been playing crk since practically the beginning- i was there when pv and hollyberry were released. i have a tendency to take really long sojourns from the game, months on end, because i'm a student and this game is such a huge time investment. my return this time actually started because i saw a video like this one about how p2w crimson coral is and i intended to waste all my gems so i could uninstall. i didn't really like any of the super epic banners because of how unlucky i got on them (though i did clutch out sherbet on like the last day), but after this last months-long break from the game, i can't help but wish for them back. i started playing again a few days ago and i'm close to 3k/5k, but i know i won't be able to finish because i don't have access to a lot of features the missions want and i can't just rely on the dailies. guild battles and missions? not able to do that because all the guilds i see will kick for one day of inactivity. tower of frozen waves? i can't get past the third level. i was lucky to pull black pearl from the legendary gacha, and it seems like they're using the more accessible pity for golden cheese, but it's still really disappointing.

its me again frm ur last video lol (back after quitting the game for a few weeks), just wanna add the fact that ever since stardust cookie's banner they included the possibility of other super epics in the rate up banner, which explains the nerfs to probability of super epic rate up banners and makes negative amount of sense since legendary/ancient banners dont even do that kinda nonsense. kinda kills the hype when u see a super epic and end up having to worry about getting a non-meta cookie like capsaicin (personal experience while pulling on crimson coral banner, wont b able to get her since i did quit for a few weeks)

Oyster cookie is very useful in master mode and she even helped me beat wailing dark sea, without my whole team was either dead at 1mil hp or didnt have enought damage output to beat it while with her I beat it like 3rd try with some treasure adjustments

I have Clotted Cream and Oyster at 4 and 3 stars. Every other super epic is way below that, and when you look at the events those two were released with, it's not hard to see why. Despite Stardust being released 6 months ago, I still don't have him starred up at all. I only got Shining Glitter because I got super lucky with soul stones (I didn't play the summer soda event I thought it was trash), and I'm really hoping that they don't release a new super epic with Golden Cheese's event. Hopefully her event will only have one high rarity cookie (being GC herself) because otherwise it'll be painful for us ftp players. And like, it's (probably) the last Ancient, her event should be one to remember in a good way. Getting outclassed during her own event would be tragic.

I haven't tried to get crimson coral because they new way to obtain the pity copy is hard, and the only time I actually tried the new version was Stardust and that was only because he was the last one I needed to fit the sleep meta at the time.

Ive mentioned this to a friend that from personal gameplay i get pure vanilla cookie, dark cocoa cookie, frost queen and black pearl cookie way more often then i do with super epics. Its utterly ridiculous when your trying to bring the stars up for super epics yet most of my legendaries and epics get more stars almost ascension stars then them. Hell i have to wait till i get super epic chests to possibly raise one star after waiting for 3 plus months and thats the more viable option to get their soul stones from.

I first started playing crk like 5 hours b4 disney collab ended. Back then there weren't even ads and there was almost no need to be p2w. PV and HB were still pretty OP and black pearl just dropped, there were only 2 super epics : clotted cream and oyster. But then everything went downhill when devsis started to put ads in the game. After that sherbet dropped, and sherbet was the last super epic with an actual good banner and not that damned pity system. Now everything is p2w. If you're f2p arena is hard, special episodes are hard, just UNLOCKING COOKIES is hard. It's been months and i only have 11 soulstones for stardust. After 1 year and 7 months we finally get another ancient, but i bet it's with the pity system. In the end, It was better back then and devsis went too far in p2w stuff that it's too late to go back. And same thing for CROB, like i'm sorry what? The gacha system? Nah not anymore just buy the cookie you want for a cheap price. I believe those games are still good, they just don't have that spark they used to have, and they will never go back to their former glory. Sorry for my lil rant, and thank you for reading.

On the current SE banner i managed to get Crimson coral via pity, and while I did get super epic cookies, just getting to the pity was a huge pain for me, even for a cookie that will most likely phase out of the meta once the next SE drops

Off topic, have you talked about the absolute HELL that is special story modes? And how difficult they are for no reason, especially to new players?

They made them rarer because the goal is to have lots of super epic cookies. Also these super epics are all so random and unique that the point is that they all have specific skills that are good for specific scenarios.

I was really glad to see sherbert and stardust to come out, I was like "Oh yay! two super epics back to back! :D" thinking they would be released every once in a while like legendarys. Not this. I am barely getting by in the arena, with the amount of times the meta has changed AND just barely making it to elite 5 with how much the teams change in every single update, and having used all of my star jellies on pitaya and now i dont have any for crimson coral OR frilled jelly fish. even with the amount of grinding i have done through out cookie run i still dont have shining glitter, but i have pitaya at 1 star. I even hate how devsisters changed the pity system for the super epics, i remember when clotted cream came out, sure was it a little painful to get him? Yes. But was it as painful to get any super epic at the moment with the new pity system? No way in hell. It would have been nice if they made the pity system not based off of what you get in the personal gacha banner for every single damn super epic. I am going to be dumbfounded if golden cheeses update actually doesnt have a super epic, unlike moonlights update. I have better luck at getting sea fairys legendary costume in the costume gacha twice then one shining glitter soulstone from any gacha. I also find it odd how i have almost every ancitent (at the time of writing this, i know golden cheese comes out soon) at 3 stars, cotton and wildberry at ascention 4 (i forgor how to spell acseneion) and 9 others asended at least once. honestly combusting doesnt sound that bad right now, sorry for how long this is :(

As a free to play player, it's very hard to keep playing now these days. Every event gets harder and harder and so does PVP. I feel like I have to try hard every event to just stay kept up with everyone else, I've been playing for a few years now and to see people play for a few months and get to my skill level because they bought to much stuff is heart breaking. I have to get buy in kingdom arena with rerolling the enemy teams until I get one that isn't the newest meta team because I dont have the cookies leveled up, I didn't get them yet or they arent promoted as highly.

Good video 👏👏👏👏👏, but I also want to talk about crk and what has happened in the last year, so when sherbet came out dec 2022 I got three copies of him and when stardust come out like 3 months later I got him on the last day cause of the 5k pity system. Then with the meta shifting and needing all these new cookies and having to grind the game everyday is just so repititive and the game isn’t fun anymore I’m just tired of it

I've been playing CRK for almost 3 years now. I'm an F2P, and before the launch of the super epic cookies I thought the percentage of the cookies Fair. Until then on release day; specifically Star Dust Cookie. Managed to get 2 Sherbet, 1 Clotted cream and 1 Oster from his banner! But no Star Dust... Can you believe that so far, 6 months after its release I've only got 1 Star Dust?!! Through ((SOULS STONES!!!)) You can tell me it was bad luck or something, but it's been 6 months!! I'm not going to stop playing because after all I love this game. I just find it VERY strange :/

i've been a f2p player for all my time in crk i started playing when mala sauce came out. The first ''meta'' team i could succsesfully build for arena was wildberry financier caviar. Now i cant get higher than master 1 in arena because i dont have stardust. I got crimson coral pretty early so i could get master 1 and getting the pity coral was a real struggle. Now i don't know what to do because i used nealy 300 pulls and i havent even seen a single stardust cookie soulstone so i cant stay in elite 5 for longer than a few hours. This game is getting harder and harder for f2p players.

It's undeniable that the gacha system is predatory, but i'd still like to raise a few points. 1. There are other tank options in arena. Tea knight is an excellent F2P choice, cherrow yt just made a video on a team that specifically counters crimson coral with tea knight and no other tanks. I personally use a crimson coral frill team and still lose to hollyberry pitaya from time to time, they're not out of the meta, and hollyberry at least won't be for a long time. 2. Magic candy isn't a bad thing. you can get a cookie up to +30 completely f2p in a few weeks/2 months, not even counting milage shop. I personally use sorbet shark (my favorite cookie, so take these stats with a grain of salt) at 5a (obtained through master mode and cookie of choice chests) and a +20 magic candy (sped up with 10 min time skips from the milage shop) and i've been able to counter and pretty easily destroy 5a bps with +17 crystal jam and crimson coral tri dps with relative ease. I do spend, but it's only to get the super epic passes and sometimes costumes. Even so, my crimson coral would survive those fights with over half her hp left, a bonus so substantial that my 2 star should survive just as well as base. 3. As long as a cookie is guaranteed, (or close to it) it isn't P2W. HyRool legend recently made a video about how most people (80-90%, I think) will be able to hit pity on the new banner without spending any, as long as they do all events. While yes, coral is P2W, this is a far cry from the P2W hellscape of stardust and capsaicin, I at least feel that isnt a hot take. 4. This isn't new, they're just being more obvious about it. If you look closely, this power creep has been happening from as early as dark cacao. Dark Cacao comes out, top meta teams are using him. caramel arrow comes out, everybody uses her. Clotted cream comes out, everybody uses him. Black pearl comes out, everybody uses her and so on. Dark cacao, black pearl, pitaya and more were never guaranteed, but everybody was fine with that because that was the precedent that the previous banners had set. when they changed the pity system for the new super epics, that's when everybody got bothered by it. I guarantee, GUARANTEE that no one would even give half a crap if the new cookies had like a, idk, gemstone rarity or something to tie into the shards. Add some sort of jewelry, and there you go new rarity type that sets it's own precedent that no one bothers to question. Same reason why people called capsaicin PTW but not pitaya, new rarity, set a new precedent. 5. I still feel a lot of your points were correct, if overly pessimistic. all of what you said was true, you just said it in a way as if it couldn't be redeemed, which it absolutely can. There are still a lot of P2W things in this game like crystal jam and snapdragon, but super epics aren't the root of the problem.

Ive been playing since halloween 2021 so Ive seen a tome without super epics and yeah the new super epic gacha system is screwed up but Im keeping up fine so Still I prefer the older versions of the super epic gacha its much more unique Although here are some points to note: In most of the older gachas, the pity was to collect 8 items based on that super epic Clotted had house crests oyster had fancy stuff and sherbet had lanterns the thing is you could get a guaranteed item but only after 40 pulls WITHOUT GETTING ONE And well yeah it was more fair but to me its more of just how committed you are Im a f2p and I play crk basically every day and I reach the new pitys just fine But to someone who doesnt play as often it becomes “impossible” Im not saying that the new system is better I just think at the end of the day it comes down to your commitment So yeah Also the reason the super epic chance drops in featured banner is cause their chance is in some sense connected with the epics so since its a banner the other epics and by logic super epics have a lower pull rate

This is one of the reasons why i left cookie run. Its too hard to keep ip with the update, to the point where it stresses people not not only physcially but can actually impact on their mental health just think about it

clotted cream cookie’s gacha was my favourite. he was the only super epic i was lucky with. oyster i had to get with soulstones during her banner, stardust too, capsaicin as well, shining glitter through soulstones, sherbet actually was kinda nice to me ig, crimson coral was horrible to me. i don’t really like super epics. their gacha system now is a bit meh, i prefer the old one where you had to pull like 7 things and u get them for free, but that’s just my opinion.

Most Korean games always add unnecessary crap after 2+ years

Honestly the power creep was the main reason on why I left the game, and don’t have a desire to come back (that and the lag I suffered on my phone). The meta shift is so hard to keep up with as F2P player, and I really didn’t like all the new cookies being added because they all had 10+ different effects. I understand that new content will usually be complex than other older content, that’s just how games go, but how am I supposed to form a team when every single new cookie has some overly complex and specific ability I don’t understand, that also mixes 5 other status effects at once. It’s just become bloated, and I miss the times when Wildberry and Clotted Cream were the newest cookies. They both had fairly simplistic abilities, that were straight to the point when using them, and were effective. Nowadays, the cookie power descriptions fit in so many effects, and conditions, and passives that it’s just become annoying. Maybe I’m just ranting for no good reason, and that my critique doesn’t make much sense, but just something about the way new cookies are made really annoys me.

i remember that i pulled stardust and capsaicin cookies at first in their respective banners but since then I've been struggling with pulling the rest of super epics: i got shinning glitter cookie by collecting the 20 soulstones and currently i don't have crimson coral

As soon as they introduced super epic I dipped and I've never been so glad 😭 I wanted to come back for Peppermint because I love them so much, but man, I have better things to do.

I was struggling on 15-17 because the only well built support I had was Parfait Cookie. I have her magic candy leveled up to 12 because she's my favorite cookie. I recently by complete chance got Crimson Coral from the regular gacha although my dream Super Epic was Shining Glitter Cookie. So, since she was a meta cookie (which I found out myself by seeing all of the arena teams good god) I decided to invest the few jellies I had into her. My power level went from Easy to Average when I added her to my team, and I was worried since I was able to blow through the previous stages in Episodes 1-15, but I managed to get Crimson Coral to Lvl 50....tell me why I passed the episode when all I did was use the same team...but with Crimson Coral?? Pitaya Dragon Cookie was my frontliner with MORE POWER than Crimson Coral AND YOU'RE TELLING ME ALL I HAD TO DO WAS USE CRIMSON CORAL?? I feel bad for other F2Ps who haven't received her from the gacha yet;;; I also ended up finding Pure Vanilla simply from saving up soulstones
