Every story I watch creates a new pain in my heart. For a child to say “ let them kill us”, a child shouldn’t even know what killing means let alone resigning themselves to a tragic fate. Oh dear families in Israel, though we are worlds apart, please know that the people of the entire civilised world are hurting with you. You are all in my prayers. May your pain give way to hope for a better future. It is your national anthem, Hatikva. May God almighty protect you from the evil you have faced.

I still can’t fathom the conditions in which these beautiful people have to live. When he speaks of what his child says”let them kill us” I started to cry. What baby should live like this. But God had other plans for this family. And He protected them. I am so Thankful for His Love Mercy and Protection for them. Praying for Peace Strength and Comfort and Unity for ISRAEL. Most important a deep relationship with Him. AMEN AMEN and AMEN 🙏🏼

I don’t know how some survivors muster the courage to return to their vandalized or destroyed houses. I think if I were in their shoes, I wouldn’t resist the urge to try and fix stuff. But the remnants of those houses are testimony of what happened. It’s good that this family didn’t give up. May God let them see their friends/family again.

You have to be able to open it from the outside to go in. The problem is they traditionally don’t lock. We got bar locks that physically prevent it from opening from the outside since.

@@cynthiacusipagbrown9405 The rooms were not designed to protect people from people, just to protect them from missiles if their house is hit with one. They're reinforced with concrete and steel so that they're less likely to collapse around them, like an earthquake-safe room. The reason they don't have locks is because in an airstrike they can still get injured in one so if a door was locked then emergency first responders would not be able to get in to help them, and would have to break the door down, which uses up valuable time. This was how I heard it explained. There was a case of an older woman who lived alone in one of the kibbutzes that was attacked; a few weeks before Oct. 7th she had a nightmare about terrorists invading her home and after that she had a deadlock installed on her safe room door. Her home was one of the ones the terrorists got into but they couldn't get into her safe room and fortunately they didn't set her house on fire, so she survived.
