The Story of Knock

12 жыл бұрынAt about 8pm on the evening of 21st August 1879, Our Lady, Saint Joseph and Saint John the Evangelist appeared at the south gable of the Paris Church at Knock, Ireland. Beside them and a little to the right was an altar with a cross and a figure of a lamb. Angels hovered around the lamb for the duration of the apparition.
The apparition was seen by 15 people, young and old.
This video captures the vividness of the apparition and the story of the development of Knock as one of the major Marian Shrines of the world.
It is a story of pilgrims who make their way to Knock from all corners of Ireland and from around the world.

I visited Knock and actually felt Our Lady's actual presence at the Mass. It is something I will never forget I can only describe it as pure Heavenly love covering the congregation. I was later told by a very holy person who has other experiences that Our Lady was behind Her statue.

My cousin had suffered 30 years with surgery done by an ENT doctor who was trying to help him breathe out of his nose. He was healed after we walked out of Mass at the Basilica. It was truly wonderful for me to be present with my cousin when this happened and I must tell share with everyone that God listens to all of our prayers, but especially the prayers that Our Blessed Mother Mary is asking Him to grant to his chosen children ( which by the way is all of us)!

+Mary Corrigan What about those who believe and are still not cured? What, did they not say enough "Hail Mary" prayers? You say God listens to all of our prayers, okay I will give you that, he might listen, whether he bothers to help is another thing. Your cousin's "miracle" was the result of medicine/procedures done by the ENT doctor, and it was just a coincidence that your cousin was "healed" then.

John King People who have witnessed or recieved miracles are poor targets for the kind of thing youre trying to do, as are Catholics well versed in theology, generally. Thunderclap miraculous physical cures are, by definition, rare and not for everyone. But there are many kinds of healing and graces-and value and purpose and dignity in all lives. Really, this documentary was more about THAT than apparition at Knock, so I assume you didn't watch it? But also...so a botched surgery spent 30 years making someone worse rather than better..and then started working correctly all at once just as the injured person was walking out of a healing mass on pilgrimage? That's some very odd medicine. I'm not sure a civil court would think much of the surgery, lol. =/ I understand the arguments you're trying to imitate. They can be very persuasive sometimes. This just isnt one of those times.

hi , it's ironic that the Knock apparition is silent as the Irish are among the most verbal of people - maybe they felt they wouldn't be able to get a word in - if the talking was allowed to start -- never-the-less , about twenty years ago - in a very difficult situation - the place I was praying in reminded me of the famous drawing of the Knock miracle and so decided to pray in that direction and was granted an incredible and impossible miracle which is stunning ! I have no doubt of the virtue of the Knock gift to the world - I am not Irish and live an ocean away , so this miraculous occurrence has to be for the whole world - and so am asking everyone to pray to the Queen Of Peace to help in the horror going on in Syria ( " and it was in Antioch that they were first called Christians " ) and also to pray about the story of ' Daniel Joseph Fitzpatrick ' who was hounded into taking his own life to escape his tormentors - a child committing suicide is unacceptable in the history of the world and is an indictment of entire society - WE NEED HEAVENS HELP - OUR LADY OF KNOCK - QUEEN OF PEACE , HELP !

My comments to John King were of necessity short. I can assure you I am very well versed and completely au fait with the history of the bible from its beginnings with St. Jerome and the Vulgate Latin bible. Unfortunately with most, but not all non Catholics The KJV is regarded as the Original bible mainly because their knowledge of Christian history is somewhat truncated. As an avid defender of the Catholic faith both online and at street level I am often left spiritually if not physically bruised by the onslaught from the protestant/fundamentalists who are ever ready to attack the church...

I wish I would have seen this video before going to Ireland in Autumn 2017. When we visited the Shrine at Knock there were very few people there. We had the whole place to our small tour bus of pilgrims. I think our visit would have been much a different feel if we were educated beforehand and if more were happening at the time of our visit.

23:15 Just so happens that the filmmakers 'forgot' that St. John the Evangelist also wrote the Book of Revelation, AKA, Apocalypse, quelle coincidence! Our Lady's warnings at La Salette, Lourdes, Quito, and Fatima are all linked. And they don't spell anything nice about the state of the clergy in the late 19th and the 20th century (save a minority).

I’m so sorry but you are terribly mistaken about who wrote the book of Revelations. It was absolutely not John the Evangelist. It was written by John of Patmos or AKA John the Elder, around 81-96 AD during the reign of Domitian in Rome. He was a Christian believed to be from the area of Ephesus. He was on an island known at the time as Patmos. Some scholars and theologians believe he could have been imprisoned during the time of his writings.

@@harrisonboone2248 God became man and he did it through a mother. It is proper to honor her as what she is, the Mother of God. The reason that Mary was called "Mother of God" was to crush a heresy claiming that Jesus was not God. It worked. Christians no longer suffer this heresy except for the JWs, whose Christianity is debated.

Inspired Scripture states that Jesus made himself equal to God by calling God his father. Classical Christianity teaches that Jesus is the eternally begotten son of the father, having no beginning and no end and completely equal to the Father. John 1:1 also states that Jesus who is the word of God is God.

My favorite part was when the Great Chicken of Bristol ate the entire group of worshippers that were on a pilgrimage to the ancient shrine of the Great Chimpanzee of Guadalupe. Also, I much enjoyed the segment of this video when, White Bart of Candor vomited up 450 pepperoni pizzas and fed all of the Ancient Cows of Grimace and the citizens of Knock'N'Roll! 🐿
