I'm happy to be able to release Part 2 of my series on Nick Saban. If you haven’t been able to watch Part 1 of this series yet, make sure to check it out. In Part 1, we talked about Nick Saban’s childhood in Fairmont, West Virginia, and how he was introduced to the game of football. He played on a popular, local Pop Warner team that was coached by his father, Big Nick. He then became the starting quarterback of his high school team and led them to multiple State Championship games. After high school, he played safety at Kent State University. After Graduating, he became a grad assistant at Kent State for coach Don James and his coaching journey took off from there.
This video starts with him coaching at probably the biggest school he’s coached at yet, Ohio State. Throughout this video, we will take you through many of the different teams he’s coached over the years. You’ll get to see exactly how he’s worked his way to the legend he is today. This video is packed with great stories of Saban in both college and the NFL and it provides a look into his process of coaching football. Some of the teams you’ll see in these videos include Navy, Michigan State, the Houston Oilers, Toledo, and the Cleveland Browns!
Stay tuned for Part 3 of this video where we will go over some of his more well known positions like LSU and Alabama.
As I mentioned in my last video, almost all of the research for this video was done from the below two books. They are both great reads and they have a ton of information about Nick Saban and his career. I didn't know much about Nick Saban before reading these books and they have completely changed the way I look at his career.
