Just hearing someone else talk about the reality of training every day is comforting in a way. I have a support system but I do feel alone a lot. Just in life and in general. And I live this life too. Preparing for fights and working in the gym. It can feel like an unrelatable position.

I am not sure what happened but i remember training like 3 days a week in Bangkok for maybe 2-2.5 hours at a time in a gym, i was the only one who wasn't a fighter. It really wore me out and i felt exhausted and sometimes stressed from training so hard, i was in bad shape at the time so probably should have kept it at 3 days a week. One week i did 4 sessions and it was super hard , by the 3-4th session i felt weaker and with less cardio than the sessions earlier on in the week. I just thought i need to push past it, did 6 sessions the next week and on my day off day after having a few beers i got some weird heart palpitations and super high blood pressure, i also threw up, the vomiting stopped after 3 days but the high blood pressure and heart palpitations lasted for around 2 weeks. The doctors didn't really know what it was but i think my immune system was run down and i caught something, or maybe i got heat stroke as it was during the hot season and 38 degrees everyday. I could call it overtraining or doing too much too fast, not letting my body recover or adapt. Isn't a short way of explaining that just overtraining?

Yes, but you were doing less than many and more than some and had a wildly different experience. So googling an equation to figure out what you can and can't do is ridiculous, as your personal experience told you what you could and couldn't do.

Hi Sylvie! Thoroughly love your content as do many others! I was wondering if you have any videos/content on bagwork? Due to time restrictions I got a bag at home to keep working and improving my muay thai. I was hoping I could get your thoughts on a routinie? 3x5min? Certain combinations? Free flow? Conditoning etc. What's your go to? What helped with your training?

kzfaq.infoGg_601PNmus?feature=share kzfaq.info0fiaQJYoAfA?feature=share The 1st Wangchannoi and 3rd Yodwicha Muay Thai Library sessions blew my mind on how bagwork should really be used, so if you're a patron, check those out.

I just got out of the hospital from having Rhabdo. Had 3 liters of fluids in the iv. Overtraining can be serious. I only had mild rhabdo but it can be deadly in severe cases or if you have impaired kidneys.

I'm glad you're okay, but that's mostly associated with dehydration.

@@8limbsUs thank you. It sure has correlations with dehydration but also muscle injuries from too much strenuous exercise is what did it to me. My electrolytes and kidneys were fine. It was from repetitive burpees after sparring I think.

how common is it for muay thai fighters to loose teeth because of sparring and fights?
@8limbsUs

I would categorize that as uncommon.
