The Story of "Reckless" - A Horse who served in the Marines

The US Marine Corps acquired Reckless and trained her as a pack horse for the Recoilless Rifle Platoon, Anti-Tank Company, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. The unit became inseparable with her, and she frequently visited their tents during cold nights when she sought warmth and refuge. In recognition of her service, Reckless received multiple honors and medals, culminating in the rank of Staff Sergeant.
