Jake "Stewie2K" Yip didn't have an easy road to superstardom. Playing CS:GO hurt his grades and his relationship with his family, but he kept going.
He kept playing CS:GO because he knew he had what it took to be the best. He kept playing CS:GO to silence the haters. He kept playing CS:GO because one day, he was going to be a Major Champion.
This is his story.

I mean he did do phenomenal on a few of his last official lans almost like his old self was back before the season ended. I chalk his inconsistency in CS up to his lack of passion that he himself admitted to as the reason why he stepped down

Calvin esports career doesn’t pay crazy and since they retire in their 20’s, I personally believe and education is important. Esports is a beautiful thing but I think in 30 years or probably less lots of the ex esports players (minus very successful streamers)are gonna struggle financially. I'm an OG I'm 25 started playing when I was 11. cs 1.6. There are older versions but that's where I started. Ever since I started playing I never played really ventured to far away from cs. It was always my go to game. I played competitive COD for like 4 months on gamebattles or something when I was 14 but that shit was too easy. Came back to cs. This is the best fps pc game ever. You won't regret it...IF you take the time to learn it and learn what you're doing and literally practice. Remember you are going up against ppl that have played this game for over a decade. Yes different variations of cs but none the less experience is experience

@schlafanzyk
@schlafanzyk 4 жыл бұрын
He just retired to save face for everyone. They would have had to drop him eventually if he didn't leave on his own. C9 kept him on that roster purely as PR. He was a huge asset for business. However, his heart was not in the team game - and it showed towards the end. Shroud is more of a one-man army. He doesn't shine in organized team communication. Ironically, the roster he would have fit in the most, was the major winning one he was not a part of.

Those video was a blast to watch. It was so perfectly made. The build up of stewie’s story and everything bad happening in his life and not seeing success. And then showing how FaZe kept on being the team they would never win against. And then they finally showed they had a chance against them. Then it came to a ton of intense matches, and then the final game going into overtime, until they finally beat them and the announcers explaining how important this was to stewie.

They didnt just not support him on that. They borderline abandoned him to his aunt most of his life for work and then the moment they get a call from school they want him to wanna care about what they want for him? Yeah, most parents would frown on their kid quitting school to go pro, but most parents would have some ground to stand on and would have some sort of relationship built with them, not just "This will look bad on me so i must stamp this behavior even if ive never cared about him before"

On the big tournament our heroes are facing failiure but they climb back and closely beat the big bad villain in the finals! Unsupported kid who everybody doubted about proved everyone wrong, underdog team comeback from almost droping out again to the big victory.. I would watch this movie Now stewie decided to run chapter 2. He was expected to be even better with this new team but they are struggling. Now they are gonna start over, slowly get back up and in the final of another major they will meet his old team - c9
