Portal is a puzzle game created by Valve. Players try to solve puzzles with portal guns. GLaDOS whis is artificial intelligence teach players how to play. During game GLaDOS talks about how to make cake. It promises “the cake” as a reward. After that players figure out that “the cake is a lie. So gamers start to refer thr cake is a lie on forums and it became meme

Even while we are going to fire and about to be baked, she says “the experiment is over, thank you for participating”. What a lovely and kind creature :)

Technically, GLADoS doesn't lie to us. We will be baked first and the cake will be received after that. Plus, at the end of Portal 2, we see the cake. So, the cake isn't a lie.

I knew what Portal is but as I prefer to pirate games I never used Steam for anything. Recently purchased Portal bundle with 93% discount and played Portal for first time. I really liked the game! Great concept and story is also iconic and I love how the game run ar 300FPS un all settings maxed out on my SLI system!
