Hello everyone! :D
Welcome to the first video of Transport Lore On The Spectrum, inspired by the creations of Ruairidh MacVeigh! This is where I plan on discussing videos related to transport, not just limited to railways.
For years, people have been saying the Class One Railroads of Canada & the United States are the best in the world. However, behind the scenes, a much darker picture has been painted, ranging from cost cutting, doctorial upper management, and delaying passenger connections.
Some sources have been labeled as unknown as the original owner of some material cannot be traced. If any of you do know who the original author is, please don't hesitate to make a constructive correction!
I don't own anything.
Enjoy!

My dad used to ride one of Amtrak’s passenger train from Baltimore to Washington Metropolitan Area sometimes in the 1980’s, and my Grand-stepdad was a longtime trucker who used to carrying intermodal to Freight Trains like Conrail (Nationalized) and CSX Transportation (Merger of B&O, C&O, Western Maryland) sometimes from the Seventies and continuity his trucking for Three major trucking companies such as Mack, Peterblit and Freightliner soon later he passed away sometime in 2013. As an autistic who love with Aesthetic, Nostalgia and most importantly Modern days of Trains and the passenger corporations and Freight transportation industry of the railroad. I can CONFIRMED, that I would likely and deeply agree of what’s going on, it’s selfish that railroads don’t show any concerns about the safety and regulations, and the treatment of railroad employees, and mostly train engineers. I feel bad the people and the victims from derailments, death or injury that put them risk if trespassing or climbing or crawl under or over. It would be worse if the trains should not illegally halted on crossings, leaving devastating consequences to neglectful companies, greedy and incompetent CEOs who always beating milking more money for TOO MUCH FUCKING PROFITS to abusing their reputations in disgraced. Pardon my language. But it’s completely true in common sense, Bradley. I will never forget the nerve of those railroads, or to “railfans” thinking that railroad is the best of United States, but think again. It’s never the best, and we should not forget about accidents or incidents or even worse, ‘disasters.’ that should assure for the FRA and the NTSB inspectors will started to pointed fingers on the Railroads for “a bad railway” it was. First Boeing, then the tragic loss of the Francis Scott Key Bridge and now the Railroads, yes of course I heard the news regardless with the East Palestine Wreck that leads the World to see. Of how the U.S. Infrastructure is going dead end and it’s going to be crumbling No thanks to Biden Administration and his fellow representatives that makes the American people and the industries look even more disgraceful than ‘look bad’ it’s even more worse (ever.) With that, DAMN You Hunter Harrison, you used to be a legacy back then, and now your future is a long streak load of piss now because of the “Precision Schedule Railroading” You know what! More like: “Precision to keep you pain and suffering by working overtime to be railroaded.” That’s what it gonna look like this stupid and ridiculous “policy.”💀

Modern North American railroading. Quite a dumpster fire. Honestly, we might as well bring back cabooses. There’s no way a single crew can monitor trains this insanely long.

Honestly, i agree. End of train devices dont really seem to be enough these days, and quite frankly i think cabooses should NEVER have even been removed from the railroads, because while yes they do add extra costs, it would be worth while since you can atleast monitor trains for a good distance from the rear. I am aware cabooses aren't gone completely, which i am glad for, but honestly, if i was running a class 1, i would NEVER think of removing cabooses from my trains. If it means making our trains safer i would.

I have to agree. Hope some day a CEO of a Class 1 decide to beg Cabooses back on the mainline freight trains considering how long they gotten. If modern technology and tech of the past are united then it’s possible to stop a heavy train. But first they’ll need to find a company that build the cabooses. I suggest using the Extended Vision and Baywindow Cabooses they are pretty reliable.

Awesome video Brad, surely, the FRA needs to get involve & make One Man Train crews & PSR illegal & give the workers fair pay. We need to get this video to the FRA & see if they would do something about it.

I’m from the US and train crews should have more eyes instead of having just a single person running the train. For one that is dangerous and considering how long the freight trains are Cabooses will be needed more than ever put back into service with brakemen a rear and front ones for the train. Heh even put steam power back to work with new designs like a simple articulated 2-10-10-2, the planned N&W Y7 Class simple articulated 2-8-8-2, and few others including some modern passenger steam locomotives like a J4 NYC Hudson, a more modern version of the PRR K5 Pacific, and few other locomotives. Maybe tech that turn the carbon emissions into extra horsepower with carbon capturing technology that can turn carbon energy into more power for a steam locomotive that could not only generate more speed and horsepower, but also compete with diesel and electric locomotives for a next generation of American built steam locomotives.

Honestly, this was all E Hunter harrison's fault if he hadn't put PSR into practice while he was on the CP, CN, and later CSX before he died. None of this would have happened, as because of this, PSR has been passed on by NS, BNSF, and UP. Though they aren't that all bad though, union pacific is the only railroad that operates a steam program and has also there largest steam engine ever big boy 4014, Norfolk southern has restored N&W 611 before Richard Anderson banned private car trains in 2018, and southern 4501 wabrought t back to steam again by NS as well
