Hey man...look closely at the advertisement at time stamp 4:15. Pay close attention to the little blurb next to the adapter that says "let's you play Japanese games on your Turbo." That's funny stuff. I don't think that was there intentions but it was the 1990's (or late 1980's). ;)

Are you sure ist was "released" in france? The Turbografx has no RGB out but PAL composite which would have made it incompatible with most french TVs at the time. Plus, in france they had PC-Engines imported and modified by Sodipeng so there were lots of japanese games in france which would make france a rather Bad market for this device

The TurboGrafx was supposed to come out in France, but the official release was cancelled.

Unfortunately, it does not support RGB as the standard video output any more than the American or Japanese units. While it did replace the RF modulator with an AV multi-out DIN, there are only enough pins for composite video with stereo audio and ground. RGB is accessible through the rear EXT port instead but they never sold an RGB adapter and that does not distinguish it from the others since they all have that.

@@TheLairdsLair Yes. NEC consoles are praised for having stellar composite video quality and the EuroGrafx is no exception. ;)

@@emmettturner9452 The "eurografx" is an exception to that claim tho. It's just an off the shelf CVBS encoder. The US and JP unit have an internal specialized digital "palette", 15bit color, that tuned to the source pixel clock for optimized composite colors and sharpness. The PAL TurboGrafx bypasses this competely - the takes the RGB line and passively converts it - so "incorrect colors" and just a generic off the shelf composite encoder.
