THE STRANGERS PREY AT NIGHT MOVIE REVIEW - Double Toasted Reviews - It's time for some horror movies! Folks have been waiting for this sequel since the 2008 original of The Strangers, and now after showing a clip or 2 without spoiling any deaths for those of you who are still planning on watching the film! So, will it be the same old song and dance where it suffers from horror trope after horror trope? Or will we get a positive reaction from the Double Toasted podcast? Find out in this funny video!

The Strangers Prey at Night 8/10 A great sequel that does use the same formula, and it is different from the 1st movie not a copy and paste that Home Alone 2, and other sequels used. I saw The Strangers, and the sequel is better than the original or 1st movie. 4 Believable likable Protagonists, no filler scenes, genuine scares, 4 great action scenes and decent action scenes variety for the kills, surprises, exciting great climax, Suspense, Character Development, Decent Soundtrack, Terrifying Villains, Callback and nod to the 1st movie showing it's the same 3 Strangers, and a great ending. I can see why some critics consider this more entertaining than the original. This is a homage or love letter to the 80s Slasher movies. A Great Action Horror slasher movie with a fast pace.

I love how this was satirised in the opening scene of Scream 2, with Jada Pinkett Smith shouting at the stupid white people on screen (who are recreating the first Scream movie) to just get the hell out of there. Unfortunately, even after Scream tore all of this material apart, like, two decades ago, lazy filmmakers continue to produce the same tired shit without putting a new spin on it (mostly because stupid audiences continue to pay to see this tired-ass garbage).

Following the threads, it seems so. I haven't actually seen anything official to confirm it, just fan chatter, but some of it seemed convincing. It appears he left for career reasons, and everything is still cool. Again, I can't confirm it 100%, so I guess we'll see, when it come to the next High Score.

I think it was because I was just figured out how to surf the internet around 2008, but I remember the trailer for the original Strangers haunted me for the longest time. I had thought that horror like that could happen anywhere. The lighting of the film sold the fear in my impressionable young mind. But it turned out the trailer was a better movie than the film itself.

To be fair , the girl that acted as that killer (the actress name is Emma Bellomy) is actually slightly bigger(by an inch or two) than Christina Hendricks . Of course that doesn't excuse the fact that they outnumber her 2 to 1 in that scene. They could still rush her and win.

Your review was awesome and very funny. Thank you. It did give me an idea for a movie premise: What are the horror troupe stereotypes for each race of people? If you locked a group of Whites, Blacks, Latinos, and Asians separately in a horror environment, how would they each handle it according to the tropes existing for horror? I feel if a good writer such as the one for "Cabin In The Woods" could do a brilliant job creating that.

VoiceoftheBoa2 Ive seen the trailer and it looks good but Im actually tired of the demon possession/haunted house horror movies that we've been getting for so long, I actually watched the movie Veronica saturday night with my family because people were talking about how that movie was the scariest movie ever, I predicted everything that happened even the ending and the movie didnt do anything for me, I honestly enjoyed The Strangers 2 over it, I feel the new Halloween movie is going to be good simply for the fact that John Carpenter is helping work on it, the guys that wrote the script are huge fans of the original and hated how the series turned after the original and wanted to do it justice, even Jamie Lee Curtis is coming back and she didnt want to have anything to do with the series after they fucked it up with Halloween Resurrection, I think its going to be one of the best horror movies this year.

We don't exactly know what Hereditary is about though; it doesn't seem like a demon/possession film but we'll need to wait and see. As for the new Halloween, much of what you're saying is what I heard from the last Texas Chainsaw film (and look at how that turned out...). I would simmer your expectations a bit. I learned years ago not to get super invested in trailers..

This just shows why Hollywood and Horror movies are dwindling down to reusing old shit, thinking it will do the same numbers if not more than the first time. The first Strangers was decent, i personally didnt like it, but I saw the appeal to it. When the second was announced, I immediately said "Same exact movie, I dont want to see it"

Been Waiting All Day On This Review But In The 1st Movie They Went 2 That Vaction House After A Friends Wedding. Now I Wonder Did The Voice Mail The Mom Left 2 The Uncle(Her Brother) Is Why The Strangers Stayed At The Trailer Parks. Because That Place Was Dry And Boring I Don't See Them Staying If They Didn't Know Nobody Else Was Going 2 Come. This Movie Was Good The 1st Was Probably The Scariest Movie I've Seen Yet 2 Date. Now I Wouldn't Say This Was Scary It Had Scene's That Could've Been Creepier But The Trailers Ruined It Like How Pin-Up Was Hiding Under The Metal Tube Thing Saying "But We've Just Started." If The Trailers Didn't Show That It Would've Scared The Shit Out Of Me.
