In Todays video I check out one of the WEIRDEST Quest 2 accessories I've ever tried from KATVR. From full body tracking to an ENTIRELY new locomotion method, this is one of the best accessories I've gotten to check out on this channel for the Oculus Quest 2 and VR headsets in general. Pretty impressive. I’ll keep my eye on it and maybe pick it up if they make a gen 2; when the tracking gets more reliable and they are able to get the price down.

That IS gen 2. There was a Kat Loco, this is the S. The Kat Loco you had to calibrate in this really asinine way.

It’s really cool that full body tracking can come so cheap not a lot of people get this experience. It’s kind of like a diamond in the pile of stone.

The best part is that it gives you more options to use the headset, I just bought a q2 and I imagine how something like that can improve the experience, although this one in particular is a bit expensive, I still like that it exists as an option.

Thanks for the review. Look forward for this tech to evolve, pushing them joysticks is getting old, like seeing companies continue to try new things. But agree, without this system being supported on quest native, bit too niche for my budget yet.

I love the exploration of different ways to achieve immersion. This product seems like a stepping stone towards the sword in the stone. Aiming for a million dollar experience without spending that.

this seems like the future of full body tracking and it seems pretty immersive, imagine if there were different colours and stuff. but with high steps, it doesn't seem that motion-sensitive but yeah it seems super cool.

My favorite thing about the accessory is the immersive experience, and how it requires no external sensors to provide full-body tracking. Absolutely improves a VR experience if you have full body tracking, makes VR a lot more interesting, and as you said, it makes games a lot more exciting, making you feel vulnerable in games, as you have a deeper sense that you're in the game. Anyways, i really love your content and streams man, the fact that you dont stream too often almost makes the streams even better, making them more of a special occasion!

I literally just got my quest 2 and basically everything I know about it is from you, so thank you! I think the coolest thing about it is how compact and simple vr is getting, a couple of years ago you needed a massive pc with wires everywhere, and now with the quest it's literally on your face, kind of crazy...

The best part for me is that it's basically a Katwalk Lite, actual leg movement would surely make any game feel more immersive and it might help with motion sickness, too!

I think my favourite thing is that it adds a whole new level of immersion because your now literally walking in the game which makes situations more tense and gets your cardio up. I also like how the makers of the accessory let you be totally honest about there product because it allows them to actually improve rather then getting blind praise.

My favorite part has to be the immersion added by having to actually move your legs to walk in-game. It’s always been a peeve of mine that I would have to use thumb sticks to walk even though I have a large enough play space to walk in-game. If the company can drop the price then I would definitely consider purchasing it! And good luck to everyone entering the giveaway!

You should try out the “bobovr m2 halo headstrap” it’s so much better then all of those identical looking $50 head straps u see on amazon. It’s for the quest 2 and it’s probably the most comfortable halo headstrap in the world, and that’s not a joke

Honestly, My most favorite thing about this product you reviewed is probably the fact that it adds a whole new level of immersion to VR! You can somewhat sprint IRL, and overall if they lowered the price, I would 100% be getting it.

My favorite thing about this weird... Starnge... Qusteneble axesory is that you can feel like you are actually there especially in horror games because every step you take is not just you pushing a botten, you are actually moving around and incountering a say... Zombie or a robot in half life it's you making the disision to walk over there instead of just pressing a botten or joystick. I don't have an ocules quest 2 yet but I'm getting one for my birthday on Monday and this could be my first game.

My reason for loving this product so much is because of the full body tracking that comes with it yes, but it doesnt have near the amount of problems htc tracking has, i dont have a oculus quest 2 yet, but i am saving up for one and i have beem grinding out your vids for a while now and i have learned a TON, thank you and keep doing what your doing for many years to come.

You should look into SlimeVR trackers. They're open source IMU-based full body trackers (same tracking method of the Loco S) that you can build yourself, but the developer is going to be selling ready-made ones in the near future. I've built one so far and the tracking is really good, espically considering there is no basestations or cameras. The reason the Loco S feet trackers don't work well is because for IMU-based trackers, you just need more trackers. For example, for basic full body tracking on SlimeVR you need 5 trackers: hip, 2x ankle, and 2x knee. IMU trackers rely much more heavily on inverse kinematics than vive or tundra trackers do, and as such, the more point of reference the inverse kinematic skeleton has, the more accurate the tracking will be. With only ankle or feet trackers, it's really hard for the inverse kinematics skeleton to figure where your legs acutally are, as your legs can move in ways a single tracker could not determine.

I love the realism it adds to the existing immersion of VR. It seems like a lot of fun to use and I love how you can finally control your legs on the quest 2. That's something I've wanted on it for a while.

I want this game so much and my favourite part about that accessory is just the fact it works with quest. That just blows my mind how your entire body can be tracked and used as a virtual treadmill. I remember a few years ago when the original vive and the cv1 and the dk2 were the only vr headsets available for personal use , and how much things have improved and my mind is just blown. I really want this game but it’s most likely I’m not gonna be chosen

I feel the best part about it is that when full body tracking was first made it was so glitchy and we couldn’t play with it but now with the gadget that you show us it is amazing and that is what I think about this piece of technology

I think my favorite part about this product is how great it is for really immersing yourself in non-combat games. I would love this for a travel game where you walk/run along with the scenery. I'd love full-body tracking without needing wall-mounted tracking devices. This has great potential, but as you mentioned, it's too expensive for what it is.

I love that you are blunt when it comes to who would use it. such as the lack of native quest 2 support and the cost shuts it out of a huge market. Even though I have a vr PC, I will not spend that money for this. Thanks for the review.

I like the idea of it. Probably works as good exercise. Walking in vr while walking in real life is something I’ve always wanted and for them to be able to give us that in sort of a way is pretty dang cool.

Don’t worry about walking in place, long distance runners often do a ball strike instead of a heel strike- it doesn’t impede their movement

I think the best part about a company making this is just the choice to take something like the quest 2 which is kind of considered an "entry level" device to the hobby and take it to the next level by slowly upgrading it and making it something completely immersing! Very nice! Hope I get the code for my new quest 👼🏻

This is brilliant! I would use this in Alyx as you did, but also Pavlov VR and VRChat for that extra immersion. Might be worth using it in Pistol Whip or Fiit XR, too.

My favorite part of that product is knowing that it is a step in the right direction for full body tracking with a quest 2. It may have its flaws now, but it shows that the full body tracking that we all want for the quest 2 is surely on it's way.

my faveroute part of this is that you can run with it if your actually running. I'm a huge fan of ready player one and this reminds me of it. My favorite feature is simply the fact that this implies some really cool tech for the future of locomotion in VR. It needs tinkering, but simply the act of moving your legs to move in VR is something wildly immersive that I think people take for granted.

Favourite thing about this product is definalty the fact that it's the only one of its type I've seen, and once they fix things like using them natively with the quest 2 and in a a couple of generations or even competitors coming out with their own versions this concept is going to make vr WAAAY more imersive - I can't wait!!

My favorite thing about the product is probably that you feel more immersed and it can fell like you are really doing something locomotive because use usually don’t walk in vr with your legs so it is a good locomotive solution for that.

My favorite part is the increase level of immersion you can get playing VR games. If it supports Quest 2 games natively and if its price goes down, this would be a real contender for the must get Quest 2 accessory

I think the best part is that once they figure these out in competitive games your immersion will increase by a ton because your hit box will be closer to where your actual body is.

I love this! If I had one I would use it for certain apps. I can't use a PC ve but I love to see people working on things like this. I believe that that they will get support for things like this natively won't he quest 2 or perhaps the next headset. I tried battle talent for the first time the other day and live the form of locomotion with your arms. You a good guy thanks for the info
