Well I for one had been trying to decipher the chorus, I thought he said the strangle of Anna's got me on hold. So thanks for posting the lyrics. Just one thing, If he is indeed singing in French then most likely he'd be singing "C'est la vie ma belle" (That's life my beautiful)

Simon Goddard It also says the lyrics on the telly in the background at 0:48... I'm pretty sure it's "Smoke of the past" as well. God knows what the other missing lyrics are!

Well spotted with those TV lyrics, I completely missed them! Looking at their mouths when singing that part of the song I'm pretty sure it's not "smoke of the past" but I'm also not convinced of "smokered" as it's not a real word. The quest continues! I'm adding lyrics to Songmeanings.com. I've figured out a couple more on this song but that website isn't letting me update the lyrics yet.
