I was pregnant and unmarried at 15 too. It wasnt easy, especially financially. I mostly had 'live-in' jobs where I could keep my daughter with me. That's life. You get through it. Now I'm in my 70s and have an income so I don't have to do horrible or boring jobs anymore. My daughter, her husband, 2 adult grandchildren (& one partner) and I are all close. Family is so precious

So she vaceumed half a floor ate her food, disrespected her by going to a hotel, showed up late showed a few tears and she thinks her mom should be proud of her? She didnt even give her anything. Not even a little money for food nothing. Some people really need a reality check. I woupd be so embarrased if I were her mother.

I feel great sympathy for Amy. I believe your parents job is to set you on the right path in life before you have to go off on your own. WHen that doesn't happen (For whatever reason!) it's bloody hard for that person!! I think she's doing a great job for herself and her son. ♡

It's making a big assumption about her parents and don't forget that in the beginning of the documentary it was stated that her disabled mom it's still very much involved in her life but didn't want to be filmed. Teenagers are often encouraged to abort early in there pregnancies or give up their kids for adoption that they are not very well equipped to raise on their own . I think she's doing a commendable job with what little she has but she could have vastly changed her life trajectory by making different decisions .

I was also a teenage mum in England. I was so poor. I lived on sausages, eggs, baked beans and meat pies mainly. I had a metre for electricity. I had two pair of pants and two tops. One pair of shoes. My daughter had everything she needed thanks to my sisters help. Life was tough but I managed. I had a cat and he brought me such joy. I’m 69 now and I live alone still and have 3 pets. Wouldn’t give them up for anything. They give me love and I take good care of them. ❤

This one is season 1, episode 4. It came out May 8. 2018. I don't know how Amy affords those adorable pets either. Imagine the vet bills if the animals get sick! Both girls are lovely, though.

I'm 62 now, and I had my 1st child at 16, 2nd at 22 3rd at 25. Yes the same father. Divorced when my 3rd baby was 7mos I raised all 3 on my own without a single drop of help any family, friend, or community such as welfare. I had a full-time job and 2 part-time jobs to pay for everything for my kids. We had to start over from nothing as my ex wouldn't allow me to take anything from our house out of spite and refused to pay child support. But I did it as hard as it was being able to put 2 girls thru human medical school and then again when they decided to switch midway thru their medical career to go to veterinarian careers. And then my son thru trade school. The hardest part of it all was how lonely I felt at times because I couldn't afford anything for myself so I always turned down every single invite because I couldn't dress up or feel pretty enough to go and didn't want to embarrass anyone because I couldn't afford nice things for me. I always had to make sure bills and food always came first. Like her, I would only eat once every few days, thinking there would be more for the kids. I felt every tear that dear mother cried !! It's always been mind blowing to just how lil credit we give ourselves of the enormous strength and courage we women actually have in us !!

Life isn’t easy, and people need to not sugar coat and put rubber bumpers on everything for their children. My mom and dad said try it if you fall/fail just get back up and learn from it, if we keep picking you up or doing everything for you, you will never learn. They said we will always be here to talk to and give advice. They have both passed on but I hear them or think about what would they do/think about my life. I always got up when I fell and sometimes I really didn’t want to, but I could hear them saying get up, move on, keep going, this will pass,it will be ok, you’re stronger than you know, we believe in you. You can tell a child NO.. fire burns, needles are sharp but till they touch something hot or get poked by a cactus they won’t understand. Amy is a wonderful person and doing her absolute best I’m so proud of her, and the train station reference about the apartment was perfect life is the same way. Amy knows the hard truth about life and the importance of love and things. Things don’t matter you can always get more love and care of a child, pet self is unconditional. ❤

If I had to skip breakfast and lunch on regular basis I'd look so emaciated and I'd be pretty drained of energy . I don't get it but it's interesting how the effects of extreme deprivation aren't always so visibly obvious. . I'm glad that despite the daily struggles she is still able to carve out a little time for her horseback riding ! Her reasoning about pets not being expensive doesn't take into account vet bills especially as a pet ages and care options when the child is school age and she has to go back to work .
@TransforminginSakartvelo
@TransforminginSakartvelo Ай бұрын
Yeah I feel like she won't be able to sustain that long-term. I really feel that for her health, as you pointed out with the real pet costs, reducing pets and adding food would be the best way. I also wonder why she doesn't make things like pancakes, which she seemed to crave - flour and baking soda are cheap, as are eggs and milk (though there are inexpensive and power-packed substitutes, like chia seeds to which water can be added for a binder), and all can be used to make other things as well.

She said they help with her depression. They could be emotional support animals. Also, the horseback riding helps as well.
@TransforminginSakartvelo
@TransforminginSakartvelo Ай бұрын
@@ListedInTheSouth That's true, but I also think they could've had less animals - one animal can be therapeutic (plus doing the riding since a lot of people find that helpful - though not sure why they charge her if she is mucking out the stall...maybe she can offer to also groom and prep the horse in exchange for a free lesson). Having four animals for mental health while neglecting her physical health (barely eating) makes no sense, and physical health feeds mental health (and vice versa, so it's clear her mental health isn't helping her take care of herself physically). She also needs the money to support her child and mother. As celestialcircledance points out, the real cost of pets when you factor in future vet bills (unless there's a free service she can use) is more than 3-4 pounds extra a day...plus increased food costs as the dog grows.

Did you hear her compalining? I really didn't. She was being candid about her circumstances. She was grateful...very grateful...for what little she did have. If you think benefits are enough, I suggest YOU try living on them. Find a halfway decent place to live within that budget. Budget for every meal. Maybe have to do your laundry at a laundry mat, scrimping up enough change to actually do it.
