Rhett! Don’t make the same mistake I made by building your mic cable into the walls without a way to easily remove it. I built a studio and wired it into the walls. When life took a sudden turn and I had to move, all the very expensive cable was not easily removed. Instead, you can build a removable cap along the floor and run it through that, if you ever move or need to replace it, you can do so with damaging or removing the sheetrock.

Or install the cable in EMT or PVC conduit with the appropriate bend radius and a diameter large enough to include the termination plug. You should be able to pull it out by pulling it through the system the same direction it got pulled in. So if you pulled it from A to B, pull it out at B if possible to minimize problems.

Hey Rhett! i Love your Videos. I am a Guitarist myself playing in 2 original bands in Halle, Germany. Over the last 3 years I followed Noah Guthrie and Good Trouble through your KZfaq Channel. And now watching you guys come together as a band, I love your music even more! Bring it on!

I think a great take away from this video is that even if we don’t have the ideal setup that we all want for recording, sometimes it’s best just to make music. You took the frustration you had with not having the studio completed and decided to do the best you could with what you had. The studio looks awesome, even in the “unfinished” state. And what you guys were able to record sounds AMAZING! Can’t wait to see how it all looks in the end! Thank you for all the great videos. They are really inspirational and motivate me to play more music!

For some reason, I just found out about Blue Wall a few weeks ago, and it's the first record in a while that I listen more than once in the span of a few days. I usually hear a record once, like it or dislike it and move on, but there are a handful of records that pull me back in several times. Blue Wall was the latest one, which was a pleasant surprise. Great record, great playing, great tone... And now seeing more cool stuff coming... Yeah, I think this is the best band I've heard this decade... Blue Wall feels like the debut of a great band even tho I know it's not a debut. Keep doing what you are doing. It's paying off and it's showing in the music. Thank you for sharing this amazing and inspiring process!

As a longtime home owner, I understand the frustration of reno projects that take forever to finish. I also know that once you’ve done a patch job to just get it done, it’s unlikely you’ll ever go back to finish it “properly.” Lucky for you though, the setup as it is, while clearly unfinished, works beautifully for these types of videos. This looked fantastic, and I’d watch the hell out of any jamming/writing sessions, concerts, or anything in that studio. Congrats. Oh, and the new songs sound fantastic. That man can sing, and the band is just as good. Look forward to the new album.

Loving the sound of the space. Perhaps this is the way to go; Exposed beams, rock wool & blackboard paint. Job done 😂 For health and safety, perhaps simply covering the rock wool with black canvas or cotton fabric, so you’re not breathing in glass fibre particulates.

it's been a while since I paused watching (a lot of) music related videos as I unconsciously moved to other interests. It's now music time again as I am focused now in playing blues, then just a few days ago while driving back to home I thought "what have happened with Rhett's studio?" so I started looking for an update video on your channel. I'm glad you finally made it functional, even recording an entire album! wow! So I noticed this video is from more than a year ago, then, is there another update on the studio? Congrats!

If it's doable you might want to think about running an empty conduit/trunk for future upgrades. I've been on many projects that certainly where much more involved than originally anticipated but have always came out more knowledgeable and satisfied with the finished project when I pushed through the difficult times.
