@@caramangoel very good point. MRF management has actually badly hurt the interest of minority shareholders. By not splitting they stock the stock or giving bonuses they have actually not shared the profits of the company and tried to increase liquidity and retail participation. All companies that have created wealth over long term have done so by giving bonus shares which are given from retained earnings or reserves or by splitting stocks which helps retail investors by making stock price more affordable and hence increasing liquidity.

why wipro. Look at Bajaj Finace. Last decade more than 500% or more returns, RIL last 4 years 400% returns. MRF is more of mirage.

In 1970, my grandfather's salary was around 1100 rupees per annum. Buying even 100 shares for 17/- would be a hell of an investment at that time. Instead, he bought a 400 sq yards plot for 2000 rupees with a loan. Three generations lived here with the whole family. (No rent for 50 years which is dividends). Now it's a commercial plot and is at a price of 4 crores. Now that's a planned long term investment. Buying some stock and waiting 50 years to grow is pure luck.

When MRF gave bonus shares 🙄🙄 MRF is the most expensive stock in the Indian equity market. This is because MRF has never split its stock. Companies split their stock time to time to maintain liquidity. But MRF has never resorted to share splitting or issuing bonus shares.

The same stock was available for the same price in 1987 and I got 200 shares at that time. In response to that naive question about "did you think it would go to 50000", let me assure everyone that even the chairman of the company did not think so. It was not a great stock, but a decent stock. Its only in recent times that madness has set in and people are buying stocks with no idea whatsoever regarding valuations, etc. So, in this madness everything has gone beyond sanity and MRF being a high net worth stock has also gone beyond sanity.

This seems to be absolutely nothing compared to 100 shares of WIPRO bought in 1980 at Rs.100 each which multiplied a mind boggling 256000 times in 43 yrs, resulting in 2,56,00,000 shares....considering all the stock split, bonus etc and without taking into account the dividend part which if put in calculation will be hard for the human brain to grasp the total returns on investment. Hence, Rs.10,000 worth shares of WIPRO bought in 1980 will alone have a market value of Rs. 1664 crores in 2023...

@@brajeshsingh2391 Well I guess you don't know that you get dividend also if you invest in good company. Second advantage is, you don't waste money in brokerage charges, if you will do day trading you will end up doing thousands of trade in 48 years. And brokerage charges will be in lakhs. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala received 60 Crore only as dividends from his investing in Titan. He is still holding Titan and getting huge money as dividends. None of the trader is in the list of Forbes richest list of Top 10. Investor is !! 60 Crore maybe a small amount for you but not for me !!
@brajeshsingh2391
@brajeshsingh2391 3 жыл бұрын
@@1wordOneWord yes but Rakesh Jhunjhunwala holds a hold of shares of Titan. And he must have made out sized gains on other stocks to invest in other stocks. You cannot hold a portfolio of 20k crores by investing in only one stock. As far a brokerage charges as concerned. Suppose you make 10% only on a stock in say 10 days. And pay 2% in brokerage charges. You still make 8%. And finally the old days are gone. Today equity market participation is so widespread and so much liquidity is present in markets you have to nimble to invest in markets. Just a few months ago Bajaj Finance was at 4500 plus. It fell as much to 2000. a trader would have made money even if sold at 4000 and bought at 2500. Investor who bought at 3500 is still holding with losses.

Brajesh Singh You can only make 10% in 10 days only in dream. Best of luck if you are able to do so you will be richest person on this earth soon.

@brajeshsingh2391 3 жыл бұрын
@@1wordOneWord you can make it. that is what trading is about. At lock down stage my total portfolio had fallen by 60%. Now it has recovered by 60% due to smart trading. Had I not been nimble I would have never been able to do it. Having said that I am no expert. I am just trying to cover my losses. Only then can I say something. Till then I have to respect the market.
