I was posted in Kashmir, thus know her. Most Kashmiri Muslims have taken up the Semitic-Islam from Kashmiri Aryan Hindus. Thus the Pandits and Muslims of Kashmir have all in common. Also indeed Islam came via Sufis but Islam did not interfere with the Kashmiri culture or ethnicity. Rinchin a Buddhist from Ladakh was denied being made a Hindu (due to being of a different race) and Bul Bul Shah converted him to Islam. Rinchin seized the throne of Kashmir by deceit thus was liquidated by then Hindu Kashmir. The best Sultan of Kashmir was of Khasa origin Budshah. Also the Chaks recent converts mainly to Shia Islam defeated and decimated the large army of Akbar.

Bulbul Shah was responsible for converting Buddhist King Richana to Islam in 1320 CE, which was a political move since a huge chunk of soldiers were Buddhist and 20-30% of the population was Buddhist, all of whom converted to Islam. As a result, 1/3rd of population became Muslim overnight (with political and military power).

No u r wrong Buddists were not even more than 1% . Everyone was Shavist hindu , Rinchina had left Ladakh and At that time kashmir was devastated by Mongol invasion and massacre. So rinchina easily gained the Title of king and Married kashmir hindu Kët Ráæn (Kota rani) so that kashmiris would accept him .

Madam Sadia Dehlvi please read the Holly Quran with understanding since It is the first source of Islam. You are propogating sufi Islam. No problem if it stays under itti bai rasool (pbuh). Sufis were pious man who called people towards Allah. but what's going on after they passed away.Remember on the day of judgement Allah will ask you did you follow the prophet muhammad pbuh?
