Hearing how Don went from perfect corporate mouth piece to suspicious, to finding out that he was trying to investigate the shady side of the company, only for it to be too late was heartbreaking Even if it was all corporate propaganda, throughout the game his positive uplifting corporate shilling is the only positive thing you’ll hear and see, to near the end finally finding him and finding out that he didn’t want the psychos to get him during the whole event, watching him hang and hearing his heartbreaking suicide video was one of the hardest things to watch in a game, leaving you with only an empty feeling as the only positive voice in the game is gone, quietly swinging in the room where he helped create the lie that is CREO

9:21 Reminder that there's actually a screen in the game that informs you that the decay rate for the environment was faster than the recovery rate, meaning CREO was failing to fix the problem and at best were only delaying the inevitable. Which would explain why they moved on from Project Resolve to Utopia.

Finally. The Surge explained. Even after two completions, I was confused as hell.

Basically what Metal Gear Solid 2 & 4 would be about if they were made today.

You make this game seem like a very interesting work of art. I'm genuinely surprised that this is the first I'm hearing about it.

Finaly finished the game just right now after 2 years of delaying it for other games and holy shit the ending was godly no wonder there is the surge 2 and I didn't know there were 2 endings but ngl I find the first ending where u inject the viruse into the core more fitting for the world that is in the surge 2 and wow u did an amazing video with audio logs and every thing that's the explanation videos I love thnx so much

I really love this game. i love the atmosphere and how the level design folds in on itself like old DS 1. Been playing Surge 2. Its cool so far but the atmosphere of the surge 1 is soooo much better

Yes, the Discord sounds are from the video Also great video, just finished the game and wanted a quick recap. The gameplay is a bit too jankey for my tastes, but the story and atmosphere are really on point

This game had pretty interesting writing and world-building. What really gets my mind working is thinking about the ghosts in the machine angle and the neurological implant. From one perspective you could think that maybe Warren isn't really in control. Maybe he has become some kind of human/machine hybrid. There is also that one guy 10 years previous who went around cutting off limbs like Warren does. A lot of things are countered by the ending where Warren is crawling after his rig fails. If he was a human/machine hybrid perhaps he wouldn't be able to do that. But even so, it's ambiguous. I love storytelling that doesn't make all of the philosophy and world-building crystal clear.

The background music also gives an eerie atmosphere for the game!

This game is one of my favorites I'm on like NG++++ and a core level of like almost 300. Don Hacket suicide was sad to me. The combat the loot system with cutting parts off is great. Can't wait for The Surge 2

I really hate how the sequel doesn't really continue this narrative. It goes from terribly grim to very sort of cheesy at the end.

I'd always wanted to try play Souls-like games but fantasy or medieval thing is not my thing. So when The Surge was released I was like oooohhh I definitely gotta try this game and I couldn't be happier! It blew my mind!

This game is hell of a lot better than Lords of the fallen. It’s fun for a clone like souls game and nice that you have a chance you go back and pick up your souls and the combat is more mech based and nice movements.

I loved this game even got the platinum

Ive just plat the game finished 3 times no ng+ . Im thinking theres a theory that he was in a coma in the operation when everything went down. At the of the game you have to go down 2 floors to fight the boss at the end hes crawling to a wheelchair blocking the door.

I'm sure it's a good game and all, but it's hard to see how a big company with big expenses would be capable of sustaining operation after all the big blunders they'd had even before the start of the game, especially with ambitious and hungry competitors lurking in the shadows. A government agency that gets its funding from taxes that you cannot deny from them however, that's a whole different story. Maybe there was a a lot of political interest tied into CREO, with huge subsidies to keep it afloat and massive regulation to strangle any competition in the cradle. Still, I'm sure it was an entertaining game.

Be I think The Surges is an awesome game I'm just Assuming that a lot of people will not play Personally I can't wait For the sequel
