The Fantasmic stage, and how they not only disguise it from guests during the day but also let guests walk on it... is one of my favorite bits of Disney Magic.

My first time in the parks was in 2022. As a professional videographer, my first observation was how there are so many beautiful sightlines in the parks. It’s a treat to film there. Like a kid in a candy store.

So much creative problem solving went into the park. It’s a testament to the art and forward thinking of Disney and his crew. Like you mentioned in other videos, buildings that share facilities and border multiple lands, large buildings that have multiple facades like on Main Street, and Disney’s ability to disguise a roller coaster by theming.Reminds me of the saying in Engineering, “create a problem that you go back and solve” thanks Brickey!

As mentioned elsewhere on your site, I am building a garden railroad version of Disneyland. This post describes the problem that anyone building a model of Disneyland has. That being which ‘Disneyland’ do you build so it is constantly changing. I took a similar approach to the model at The Walt Disney Family Museum, in San Francisco. The first time there I stared at that model for hours. At that time they didn't allow people to video anything. I memorized and took notes with drawings.

Awesome, as usual. Definitely lots of learning happening for us this year.

I think we all miss the old Disney. That attention to sight lines and theme were all about problem solving. They solve zero problems now. They draw the shortest line from point a to point b and call it

I just saw “Third Man On the Mountain” a few nights ago for the first time! I knew it was inspiration for the Matterhorn but didn’t know it was actually filmed at the base of it. Very cool! There were some tense parts in that movie. 😅

The Matterhorn a landmark attraction that paved the way for steel rail coaster designs and the undisputed most imaginative show creative designing and engineering of THE best nighttime show at the Disney Parks! I cannot even speak enough in this comment section of how much impressive engineering and problem solving was done to disguise all the show elements! Murphy alone was a true marvel. Though plague with issues it was arguably one of the most impressive large scale animatronics. R.I.P. Huge shout out to Barnette Ricci, Garner Holt and Bob Gurr! 🙌🏾

The Matterhorn is very similar to “the rollercoaster” from Tívoli park I Copenhagen. I know Walt visited that park while doing research for Disneyland. If you ever get the chance, a visit to Tivoli park I would recommend it!

I don't know if you can confirm or deny the story about Tom Sawyer's Island. I remember reading that anything related to Mark Twain/Samuel Clemens was property of the State of Missouri. So Tom Sawyer's Island is technically a territory of the State of Missouri! Since it qualifies as an island and is surrounded by a body of water, with the name of an intellectual property of Mark Twain, it is a territory of the state of Missouri. Is their truth to this?
