I think the Queen along with the rest of the royal family, protected Harry when he had his faindiscretions over the years. Harry took this as a sign he was the favourite one and he could do no wrong after all he had gotten away with so much. I can only imagine the heart ache Harry and Megan‘s betrayal caused her. Yes betrayal for everything she had done for him when nothing was enough for them

You are 100% correct, all his life Harry was a problem and the Royal family and the Palace covered up his behaviour. On occasions they were unable to do this and we the public saw everything and it was not nice to see. Princess Diana indulged him and did not correct his bad behaviour, all because he was the "spare" As for the treatment of our beloved late Queen Elizabeth, I like many British citizens will never forgive Harry and Meghan, for making the last year of HRH Prince Philip life unhappy and the last years of Her Majesty, when it was obvious to everyone that Her Majesty was seriously unwell. I cannot imagine the pain that Harry and his wife caused the Queen, trashing Her Majesty's legacy and her 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. SORRY Harry! you are not the chosen one, you are NOT special.

I don’t think all the members of the Royal Family caused the Queen pain…William, Catherine, their children, Sophie, Louise, Anne, Zara, Sarah Armstrong Jones..were bright lights to the Queen! I do think she was lonely because she outlived her friends and close family members! The Queen undoubtedly saw the difference from the greatest generation to the me generation!

I don’t think she was sad, she had Anne, Edward, Sophie and all of her grand children she was very close too, she also had Angela Kelly and her ladies in waiting so she was rarely alone, not forgetting all of her horses and corgis … lonely no not a chance, AND she was still working up until she died and receiving that dreadful new prime minister

The Queen protected those boys so much, especially after their Mother died. She thought she was close to her grandsons but it turned out only one of them had a heart and gratitude. How dare that woman say we Brits are racist? Do Americans understand we never had legal segregation, that slavery was banned hundreds of years ago? It was what occurred to her say to suit her purposes. No one has ever treated the Queen and the family as disgracefully as that woman. They must have been relieved when she left but she took one of their loved ones with her.

The suggestion that the Queen was a neglectful mother doesn;t take into account the fact she was probably the busiest woamn in the world--she had her duty to the country and the Commonwealth--she wasn't a superwoman, she did her very best as a mother . It irks me that despite all her responsibilities , people expect her to be able to be in constant attendance on her children---in an ideal world perhaps, she wasn;t able to be a typical mother of the time and it probably broke her heart.

I feel the Queen has learned sympathy for her family in the Royal fold . With so many years and experiences. I agree that the Queen stood out amongst her family members for her total commitment to her duty & responsibilities but I also think she learned this from her parents, who never expected or wanted to become King & Queen but who stepped up when Edward failed & did what was needed at a crucial time in history pre & post WW2. The Queen learned from them, that the quiet, privacy they & she wanted so desperately had to be sacrificed for the good of the nation & they were willing to do it & thank goodness they did - I truly believe we wouldn't have a monarchy & maybe not even a Great Britain today if Edward had gotten his way.

Andrew had to be at his father’s funeral. The. Queen stepped gim of all honors. Yet at his father’s funeral she has him walk beside her because she still loved him. That said, to speak as Harry and Meghan did hurt the Queen deeply, when she was of advanced age and already with one cancer. Despicable!

He was at the funeral, but it was during social distancing and limited groups. I didn’t understand why one of her stuff that was in her immediate bubble at home could not just ride in the car with her, but sit by her at the funeral. I think you’re thinking of when Andrew walked HLM a.k.a. his mum to her seat - and that was at the memorial/celebration of his life for Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh… it was when larger groups were allowed after more vaccinations, etc. about a year after his death - if not to the day, (I’m not sure about that off the top of my head, I don’t recall) as she wanted to show she still loves her son in my opinion. Plus, his father had also. I’m sure he wasn’t thrilled with some of his shenanigans or foolish choices. Had he been choosier about with whom socialized especially when not in large groups as witnesses to what went on, he may never have had to deal with those allegations. Unfortunately very little to do with being Royal but more with having a working mom who felt like she wasn’t able to be there for as much of her first two children’s young childhood as she would’ve liked and pretty much spoiled the first of the last two after like at least a 15 your break I want to say. Roughly. Edward never came across as having been so spoiled. I think by the time Andrew was a few years old, by the time Edward came along, it was obvious Andrew was probably somewhat bratty so she may have loved on Edward but set a little bit more boundaries as far as acceptable behavior perhaps striking a balance between Charles and Andrew.

According to the ‘Revenge’ book, Harry believed the ONLY reason William did well because his mother was blessing William but not Harry. So that’s why he exults later that ‘My mother is with ME now!’ Reminds me of my five year old that he was perfectly willing to share ‘dad’ but the baby was to understand ‘mom is mine!’ At FIVE, that was cute, at forty, it’s pathetic and delusional.

The fact that the late Queen had a huge soft spot for the people she loves just makes me love and appreciate and respect her more, it shows her human side that a lot of moms aren’t perfect. H&M totally took advantage of this and what they did to her and her husband was inexcusable, not to mention everything they have done to the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children. It’s so disgusting!

That will crop back up if Harry indeed comes back to the BRF. What he did was so much worse, yet Charles forgives him but can’t get over Andrew trying to get the crown for himself after ‘Tampongate’. Andrew is despicable but what he did was NOT treason, in Harry’s case, it certainly is!

Well done! 👏 Liked your insights about the Queen and Hazbeen’s treatment of her! I get a tear when I think of what she had to endure in the last years of her life. King Charles tries but will never be able to live up to his mother’s standards. Those are big shoes to fill, which is why I think of him as a “placeholder” king at his advanced age. He needs to teach his successor well….waiting for William to be crowned.

The royal family is a family behind closed doors, times change and just like other families you have a difference in how they chose their lives just like we do. The Queen dedicated her life to service, her family spent a lot of their time doing the same but they are entitled to happiness, just like we all want. Harry and Andrew are the proverbial black sheep, that doesn't mean the others should bare responsibility for their actions. Harry knew the queen's was dying when he tried to get on the balcony and it's just outrageous that he tried to take advantage of her at that time

I, think , you are mistaken Denise. The late Queen, only gave passes to 2 persons , in her family, They being , Andrew and Harry. All of her other children, were strictly brought up. It has, always been rumoured , that Andrew was her favourite. As for Harry, Queen Elisabeth, wanted to make up , for the fact, that he had, lost his mother, at such an early age. However, she was shrewd enough to know, that these 2 members of her family, were weak charactered.

Tom Bower has and still does annoy me sometimes. It's like he has a confusing agenda. It's like he waffles a lot from one side to the other. It's hard to explain. The Monarchy, any Monarchy, has never been perfect, because they are human, just like the rest of us, but there have been, and are, some people who are part of the the Royal Family that are Traiors and need to "dispised" of. Not as Henry VIII would have, but in other ways. The problem comes in working out how to do that in a humane manner. It's like walking a tightrope. They are damned if you do, and damned if you don't, deal with the traitor harshly, especially in this era of "everyone has rights", especially with the memene mentallity!

There was no question as far as the RF were concerned about Prince Andrew attending the memorial for his own father or indeed his mother's funeral. Since then he has not been prominent on public occasions.

I think people are gob smacked by how brazenly horrible and and yet joyous they are. I think this is why so many people watch their stuff. We want to see their train come off the broken rail ridge over into a steep gorge into the abyss that they deserve!! Love your interpretations & I try not to miss any. Memorial so why shouldn't Andrew escort her to her seat. He's not convicted of anything and dropped his case to not overshadow the Jubilee. He fell on his sword for The Crown.
