THE SWEET EAST is a picaresque journey through the cities and woods of the Eastern seaboard of the United States. Lillian, a high school senior from South Carolina, gets her first glimpse of the wider world on a class trip to Washington, D.C. Separated from her schoolmates, she embarks on a fractured road trip in search of America. Along the way, she falls in with a variety of strange factions, each living out their own alternative realities in our present day.

@@marinebymistake Kinda harsh, yeah ending was anti-climatic, and the whole escape to be locked in a barn room encounter dragged on; it could have been entirely replaced with another misadventure, but overall it was a refreshing ride.

Saw this at the Philly Film Fest a week ago and loved it. It’s a blast, but not for everyone. Definitely gonna see it again. Hope the road show comes to Philly!

Can't wait for you to check it out! We begin our road-show outside of NYC this Friday and add shows in Baltimore with cast/crew ahead of some additional December dates on the east coast. If you liked this film, then I recommend watching the film by Russian director Roman Mikhailov, “Vacation in October.” Both films have something in common, you will not remain indifferent!

Yeah. To me, it reflects the contemporary United States and how young teens like Lillian frequently change their political beliefs based on their environment (one moment an anarchist, the next a far-right follower)

This movie is marmite, you'll either like it or hate it, personally, i enjoyed it the free spirit of the movie, walking out the door to see where you end up only to return home, then do it all again.

I just know this movie is gonna be so good, its so unique and i feel like it has such good acting and a very interesting storyline. Just not the boring standard (predictable) story line, i think its gonna be a story that you dont expect

So many movies this days try ti be strange arthouse, just for the sake of it. Someone like Lynch is strange but you feel he’s genuine about the work being out out. Movies like these are done so to try to seem weird and superior
