As a child, the daughter of fashion design Ralph Lauren loved "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," and wanted to live in a candy land. Today, Dylan Lauren is the founder and CEO of Dylan's Candy Bar, which just celebrated its sweet 16th birthday. Correspondent Alina Cho toured Lauren's New York City flagship store - the largest candy shop in the world - and talked with Dylan about how she found sweet success.

One day your kids will be saying the same thing when her kids start their own businesses with her help . Go figure and just try to learn how the haves got it and the have not's don't have it and most likely never will .

This is DEFINITELY one of the coolest places in NYC, but as a entrepreneur myself, I wonder if a place this big on such a prime location, actually turns a profit selling candy? It reminds me if FAO SCHWARZ, where EEEEVERYONE would go to, but not purchase much and it eventually closed! It could also be opened to be the window to the brand but turn profits in other locations. Whatever the case may be, it sure is a definite destination when in the city!

I went to the main store New York years ago and every Christmas one way or another I get Dylan's Candy I wish they would open one up in San Francisco

Yeah haha, she’s really sweet too! My mom is friends with her and she’s really generous too! She gives us a bunch of candy all the time for free 😅

Very cool store, and she's a lovely lady, but to promote candy, with a national epidemic of type2 diabetes and obesity does seem a little off. Even more so, when you watch a Ralph Lauren fashion show and see that he uses the skinniest models in the biz.
