Cotto was never the same after that first Margarito fight. I was a fan of Cotto, but it was only after Margarito was exposed as a cheating fraud with Mosley that I understood just how much of a warrior he was during that fight against Margarito and his loaded gloves. Margarito was a cheating coward and should have been permanently banned after his loaded gloves were discovered. Loaded gloves should end your career because you are putting the other fighter's actual life, future health and mental faculties, and their entire career at risk to give yourself an unfair brutal advantage.
@williamblackfyre4866 Жыл бұрын
Margarito should have been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. People die in the ring without loaded gloves. And yes, this fight ruined Cotto, gave him alot of scar tissue which opens up easier and broke his confidence. Cotto still had a successful career but when he was up and coming he had potential to be one of the greats. Margarito robbed us of that, he is a shit human being.

I remember when this happened. I was very young and was still in middle school/elementary school. I’m Mexican so naturally we rooted for Margarito, but also liked Cotto because he’s from Rhode Island. We noticed towards the end of the fight that Margarito was fighting a bit too good, like one body shot or hook to the cheek was like taking a shot from thanos. Then we found out about the illegal hand wraps, and next thing you know, we were celebrating Cotto beating the absolute SHIT out of Margarito! Karma is amazing

Yes he was...he only received a 1 year suspension and was still fighting in mexico. When hw came back, he fought Pacquiao who was the no 1 Pound for pound fighter at the time...makes you think about how corrupt boxing politics is

Well we don't even execute convicted pedophiles here anymore amazingly...they usually get 2-4 years then go out repeat offend. Get 2-4 more years. Get out do it again and then sometimes kill to....then maybe this time get 20-30 years.....and repeat...so that's likely why!. Granted that's a different department Boxing commission Politics not Government judicial Politics but still the corruption/deception bs tactics are the same.

@@applesauce0211 Great point and your absolutely correct Margarito did not"deserve/earn" that huge pay day/and chance to enhance his legacy in the way off chance he actually some would/could have upset Pacquiao...however see it more like this...God is always in control and in the end he always delivers justice even if systems fail which they so often do...in this case sure Margarito got few million bucks- means little when you have lost everyone's respect and trust by the way Money means nothing at that point! but he also got and received righteous justice and judgement in the form of Pacquaio not just shutting him out and proving once and for all that the Margarito boogeyman era was over forever! he also literally gave Margarito a Broken eye socket/orbital bone/ some even think a full on lost eye for life.-there are pictures which seem to potentially suggest Margarito may even flat out straight up have a fake eye now he very well might have literally lost his eye from that damage he took in that Pac fight! but bare minimum his eye is fucked his skull there and orbital bone fucked for life etc. Irreparable damage and pain! and that is for life! so make no mistake Justice in the end will be and was delivered fortunately ya know!.

Pacman was concerned for Margarito when he was beating Margarito's face to the pulp, when I catched a glimpse of Pacman was looking at the referee calling for it to end the round, the referee didn't bother (or probably didn't see it) to end the round and it got Margarito suffered, like a patient got failed to perform a botched surgery on him until the last round. Pac was also holding back for the last 2 rounds for Margarito to be left standing up.
