I did use it for traveling and for a couple of outings. Worked great. Big enough to store extra layers in cold weather. Very comfortable with fairly heavy loads for an outing. Hope it had some type of compression straps on the front to prohibit the zippers fully open and utilize the zippers like top opening pack though you could add compression straps thanks to the loops all around the pack. I use Battleship, Halftrack, Warhammer, Terminator and Skycrane for my adventures and Eberlestock never ever failed on me. The only company I would invest my money on with no doubt. Great appreciation to Glen Eberle the founder of the company and the hard working staff.

Loved the bandit but was too small. Upgraded to the switchblade and never see me alone without it

This is the boat that I’m in. The Bandit is really good, but after just putting a couple of things in it, I feel like it’s too small. Additionally, it does not hold an iPad Pro very well. Super tight. And after you Velcro a handgun in there, it seems that the iPad could get damaged if they clanked together hard enough. I think that the Switchblade may be just the ticket.

How did u attach it to the F1? Do the shoulder straps come off the switchback?

@@dukhtr3yeah they come off the switchblade the same way they come off the the F1 mainframe. Eventually put them back on when I switch to a vapor.

Is there a rain cover you make or would recommend for this backpack? I bought the switchblade a few months ago and love it. Living in the pnw I need a good cover. Thanks for your help and amazing products!

Yes, our small size rain covers fit over the Switchblade fully!

May I know what the actual capacity of this backpack and what is the different between this and the F5 swiftblade?

I have 3 Eberlestock bags and wanted to add an edc backpack. This would have probably been the one as the design seems to work best for me. However, I am holding out on an updated version of this. Can you please change to modern water bottle pockets (not drawstring) and make them taller and and more able to accept thicker and taller water bottles. Also, the bag needs to stand up on its own (if properly packed out). Can you please square off the bottom of the pack in every direction to allow this. The pack would also look better - right now it has a weird muffin top look (wide on top, thin on bottom). If you square it off to have it look straighter, you can also make it stand up on its own and it will be a total game changer! Thanks.

The pockets are now made with a stretch fabric so a wider bottle and accessories can be put in.

@@Eberlestock Nice- thanks for the heads up!! This bag is now even closer to perfection! Please try to convince the big boss to square off the bottom in every direction. Aesthetically, it will be a win. Functionally it will stand up. Its a no brainer. The amount of bags on the market that can stand up on their own are literally almost 1 - the Osprey Tropos/Parsec.. Some of the best backpack reviewers on youtube like George Defined and Desy Chang would love this feature too and could help you promote it. But if you have kids or you are in a coffee shop or whatever you are doing, its such a huge convenience. Thanks again for the response - been using your packs for years. Edit - do it to your jackknife too - that is another bag that is almost perfect!

How come the green/gray model didn't get the attachment loops on the exterior?

It did for a long time, however most wanted a more "normal" look to the pack, so we offer select colors without MOLLE.

@@Eberlestock ehh I think I messed up. About a year ago I ordered the Switchblade Gray/Green and almost a year later now I wish I bought one that had the MOLLE. I have a 3 week trip to Europe in early September and adding additional accessories via MOLLE would've helped a lot since I plan to only bring this backpack as a carryon only trip.
