The Bastard Children of Black Sabbath, Metallica and Zeppelin!! Could any fan of metal ask for more???? This band has single handedly restored my faith in Modern Rock.....

I've had the pleasure of seeing The Sword live. Was fucking great! They opened for Kyuss Lives aka Vista Chino in Chicago. One of the best concerts I've ever been to honestly.

I've been singing this to my newborn son... It's important kids today grow up with a respect for epic metal, especially awesome concept albums like this one :)

I'm so glad Metallica brought these guys out on tour in '08 so more people discover this band. Thankfully bands like The Sword, DOWN, Mastodon are here to keep hard rock alive and well.

I know, I own all their cd's. Early shit is death metal, then progressive, but their latest is just rock. They are now currently rock. Which is why is say they keep rock alive, since that's where they've ventured into. They are also played on most rock stations now. I mostly listen to metal, so I'm glad there are still bands that play on the fence of metal/rock and keep both strong.

@englandsk8err Trivett and JD went to the same high school, but weren't friends. JD met Kyle through the Sword's original bassist Ben, who was kicked out after their first show and replaced by Bryan. Trivett moved to Austin to be in Funeralizer but quit to do the Sword full-time, which was essentially Ultimate Dragons with a different guitarist.

Don't know much about this band, but I did see them up for Motorhead about a year and a half ago. They put on an entertaining show.

Saw these guys in Detroit. Didn’t even really know much but was up front staring at the touring drummer. Guy looked like he played with tree trunks just bashing the fuck out of the kit. Kick ass show. Sound was perfect

@96drawkcab There's the three witches in Macbeth who tell him that he will rise to be king and then warn of his downfall. They pretty much pop up in various types of mythology and can predict the future, which fits with the lyrical content of the song, "Three witches you shall meet, on the road to your fate..."

this reminds of the time i got to talk to the sword after one of their shows. we asked them how they came up with songs and trivett said "we go to this shaman down in mexico and take some peyote. then they crawl around the ceiling for a couple of hours and then the albums done."
