A friend in high school had an AAR. White with black interior, automatic, black vinyl top. He sold it to get a 440/6 Challenger R/T. Plum crazy, 4 spd., white interior, white vinyl top, hockey stick stripes.

Great Coronet, Mark - the GTX is my favorite B-Body but the Coronet R/T is so similar that I doubt I would care if I woke up in the Dodge at a set of lights ;)

Incredible time era, you could custom order a car with so many features. Now you can order winter floor mats if you want.

Dude says the guy put out extenders to make less tension on the hood springs.... then says most of these hoods are humped up in the middle of the fenders... DUHHHH that's because of the tension on the hood springs. LOL

I LOVE your show, Mark. Fun tidbit. I found recently out that Walter Chrysler is my cousin. Pretty cool thing to find out. My 10th Great Grandfather is Governor William Bradford from the Plymouth colony. I am sure you already know Plymouth wasn’t named for the colony but for a farming machine. I do have old Plymouth hubcaps with the Mayflower on them. I love HISTORY.

Plymouth was actually named after a very popular binding twine that most every farmer used, this is back in 1928 when Walter P needed a brand name for the cheap Maxwell that became the Chrysler-Plymouth and then just Plymouth by '28, and that twine name was like Coke for soda today already a positive name in the everymans life aka Ford customers , but Chrysler DID play up the Plymouth Rock bit right away too in their ads in the 30s and 40s. I remember helping Pops polish the brass colored Mayflower on the grill of our '57 wagon when I was a rug rat. 👀
