There are archeological evidence of a foundations of an a twin structure near Taj Mahal that was to be the tomb of the Emperor solely while the Taj Mahal would have been only for the wife. The structure was to be same in every aspect with the exception of the marble which was to be black. The hypothesis are that the second structure was never completed due to economic reasons (no surprise there) or due to the passing of the emperor which prompted his successor to nope out of the project.

I think there is a mistake at 10:20. Scaffolding of Taj during the war time is not because the government feared attack on Taj itself. All this happened pre-satelite navigation era. They feared large white structure like Taj may act like a light house which will help the bombers to identify the location during night raids.

Something worth mentioning is that the emperor who commissioned the Taj Mahal wanted to have a identical one build on the opposite side of the river in black marble, however was imprisoned by his son before this could be achieved because of the economic concerns! It’s time for you to study Islam as according to the religion it’s the opposite to perfection, as Prophet specifically told not to construct structures over graves. Sahih Muslim 970 a Jabir bin Abdullah r.a. said: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbade that the graves should be plastered or they be used as sitting places (for the people), or a building should be built over them.

@@iamhusain94 Building living structures is forbidden but I've never seen or heard anything forbidding building mausoleums or tombs. Yes, the grave worshipping in south asian countries is heresy. But a tomb respects the dead. No one walks over it or sits upon it. Personally I think you missed the point of the hadith you quoted. But then again I'm no scholar and my understanding of it can also be flawed.

Hey Simon! Take a look at Denver International Airport. It is the second largest airport by total land, fifth busiest in the United States, and among the top 25 busiest in the world! The construction ran over budget, there are many conspiracy theories surrounding it, and it's astonishingly lovely to look at (the terminal anyway!). Seriously, I think this one would be worth your time.

This was super informative and exceeded expectations... however regret that current polictical controversices were highlighted out of the 400 year old history making that one section more of a Polictical vendatta . All indians love Taj Mahal and no one can acutally harm this beloved structure. Ironically for the structure that symbolizes love; the queen did die during birthof 14th child, 20k workers had their hands chopped offso that they could never recreate a replica and the king was laid to rest right next to her in the Taj as thier own blood no longer had a budget for his fathers grave.

How the Propoganda of blatant lies about Taj Mahal, Vatican, Kaaba etc started- Purushottam Nagesh Oak(1917-2007), who claimed Taj Mahal as a Shiva Temple a.k.a.'Tejo Mahalya'. Among his prominent claims were that Christianity and Islam are both derivatives of Hinduism; that Vatican City, Kaaba, Westminster Abbey and the Taj Mahal were once Hindu temples dedicated to Shiva; and that the Papacy (Vatican Pope) was originally a Vedic Priesthood. In 2000 India's Supreme Court dismissed Oak's petition to declare that a Hindu king had built the Taj Mahal by saying he had a "bee in his bonnet" about the Taj. Till date, as of 2017, several court cases about Taj Mahal being a Hindu temple have been inspired by Oak's theory. In August 2017, Archaeological Survey of India stated there was no evidence to suggest the monument ever housed a temple. There is no evidence offered by Oak to redate it to 13 centuries earlier. Technical know-how to construct structural buildings didn't exist in 4th-century India. Oak later dropped this claim and claimed it to be from the 12th century. Similar False Historical claims are done by Oak in other structures. (If ur interested, then u can do ur own research from authentic sources for his works) Oak is a 'mythistorian' whose work resorted to exploiting comparative philology in the generation of delusional etymologies-associating Sanskrit sound-alikes with foreign terms such as Vatican=vatika (hermitage), Christianity=Krishna-niti (the way of Krishna), Abraham as an aberration of Brahma -- to purvey an Islamophobic and anti-Christian agenda under the covers of Hindutva. Edwin Bryant in his work on Indo-Aryan theory describes Oak to be a self-styled historian whose works suffer from an ubiquitous and very poor standard of professionalism and critical methodology and who fit the definition of a crack-pot. This is why Oak's theories have been noted to have found a popular following among right-wing Hindu factions in a bid to wage politico-religious battles.
