I’ve said this before: Broner’s ideal style is not the one we see. That Mayweather touch-n-go style never was where he shined, it was when he let his hands go. This will live long in the memory, leading up to the fight after seeing the momentum of both fighters, broner was less than convincing against Paulie, and maidana was looking a different fighter under garcia, I felt Maidana could pull this off, but at the same time AB was so hyped at the time and alot of people thought he would outbox a rugged maidana with his crisp clean work. Fundamentally though, he just didn't have the legs. He won 3 World titles by using only his upper body superiority and quick hands. He never had to be on his toes. Maidana showed him that once the distance gets closed down and when the opponent isn't scared to go at him full force, its a whole different ball game.

Great video. I gotta admit when Broner was a lightweight, that was one of the most exciting times in boxing! It felt like we were seeing the New Floyd growing up right before our eyes. He was super fast, Broner was stopping guys at his will and he was more entertaining than Floyd. Broner was a natural on the mic! The Malignaggi fight really brought a lot of us back down to reality because in my head I knew Paulie was a tough fighter but my heart was expecting a Broner stoppage and then he would move on to even greater things! That Uchiyama guy looked dangerous, I never knew about him but I also think Broner was scared of Danny Garica too. That's why Broner jumped over 40 to 47. The Maidana fight was a disaster but I'll never forget the Broner hype!
@MacMac13133 жыл бұрын
Maidana was throwing the jab to the body the way Marquez was throwing the right hand to the body of Pacquiao and then bringing it back up to the head to knock'm down once they developed that anticipation to the body. This is the clearest example I've seen since Marquez/Pacquiao 4 that many Pacquiao fans failed to realize at the time or just chose to ignore out of blind pride. Canelo does a similar sneaky left hook that telegraph's going to the body but instead goes straight to the dome. These are the technicalities I like being mentioned and exposed to the casuals because people don't understand that behind fighting and combat sports there is a science. This goes for the Mexican fans who think that going to war, engaging in a bar fight, phone booth is what a boxing fight is supposed to look like. Oh it's a fight alright, but it's from being a boxing match. I'm a Chicano by the way in case anybody has a problem with what I said. Particularly Mexican and Filipino fans who come on here with their nonsensical comments and lack of understanding. Good video by the way. This brings back memories of those years when boxing was still at a high peak with the future boxing legends that would eventually fade away within the next few years. Regards from Los Angeles 🤝

This is the fight that made Adrien super gun shy. He skipped 2 weight classes instead of growing out of the weight class, where in the smaller weight classes he would walk through shots. He couldn't do that at 147 or with Marcos Maidana. Especially with Maidana being heavy handed and weighing in at a middleweight the day of the fight. This is actually Broner's best fight to me. He showed true grit and didn't quit. He even hurt Maidana late. Great fight.

Excellent point. It never looked like he was being totally outclassed but rather that maidanas power had actually shocked AB like it was something he’d never seen before. He stuck in there but the strength and weight advantage had just overwhelmed him. Also I feel that if he would’ve never switched from his raw style he would’ve found more success too. Now it seems like he’s adjusting to his Floyd style in his last fight against Santiago but I also feel that unlike guys like Floyd, toney, sweet pea he’s just not mentally built for that style. Physically he has all the tools hand speed good power, good feel and concept for defense but AB never knew the line between staying defensive and countering to pouring the pressure on. He’s one of my favorite fighters ever but not only because of the fighting and his antics but also how interesting his case is. He really could’ve been so special man

I'm still with them. Due to the pandemic and no huge fights , there's not much happening where a remote out of state contractor is needed. Earlier in January I was in plans of being out there in LA at the studio working for the month of April and work the fight week in the later portion of April into May then head back home. But unfortunately with the pandemic those plans were put to a halt. Maybe boxing be normal in Sept 2021. Til then I'm in the process of getting a Work visa and doing film production work in Thailand.

Something tells me this is about to be one of the best. Thank you! Quick question, do you guys think Ryan Garcia is sort of like Broner? He hasn't fought anyone that's "An actual challenge" yet... I personally think he's good but one day if he's not careful he'll get knocked out.
@jesuscruz70333 жыл бұрын
I agree he hasn't fought anyone yet but luke Campbell will be his first true top test but he trains with canelo and his team and he hasn't missed weight and seems dedicated by training all the time
@luedanger5613 жыл бұрын
To early to say. Ryan has only fought 20 times. He has beat some people with a little credibility tho

@@jesuscruz7033 i think as long as he doesn't fall down and get too comfortable like broner he'll be okay, don't get civilized like what hancho says

Hes 21 and hes fighting campbell in about a month. Campbell is only a year off from being champ
@ek74043 жыл бұрын
His chin hasn’t been tested because he’s knocked out everyone with ease. He’s fighting Campbell next month, that’s a real challenge- we’ll finally be able to see if Ryan is just hype or a legitimate star. However I’m leaning towards the latter, he’s training with Canelo who takes his craft very seriously and that stable Reynoso has is second to none. Lots of people don’t like RG because he’s a pretty boy that seems more like an instagram model than a boxer but his skills are legit.
