Thanks so much for sharing all the information! I had a question regarding the withdrawal, can you transfer the money to your personal account at the time of purchase or does it has to go directly to the seller/lawyer what expenses can it cover, is it just the down payment or can it be used towards legal fees, moving expenses etc.
@xoReni
@xoReni Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, Sean! It seems like you can transfer it to your personal account but you first must fill out Form RC725, Request to Make a Qualifying Withdrawal from your FHSA and give it to your FHSA issuer. That;s the only way to withdraw it tax free. I'm not sure about legal fees and moving expenses, that isn't clear. Hi Reni. two questions please: You talked about having many FHSA accounts but not exceeding the limit? are you talking about the limit per Month for each of them or in total? as in 8000 max for TD and 8000 max for wealth simple max? or 4000$ each per month? also, how is my mom tracked to know that it is to buy a house? will my bank make the payment for me to where I am buying a house or they will give to me and trust that it is for a house? Thank you so much
@xoReni

@@xoReni Thank you for your response. $40k is pretty small considering the cost of houses in Canada. Quick question. Is it possible to save both down payments in both RRSP and FHSA, and when the time comes, you remove the money from both account for the down payment without any penalties? which should be considered `FIRST TIME HOME BUYING`.

I would still stay it’s best to invest in TFSA > FHSA > RRSP, just because with the TFSA you can withdraw the funds from the account and regain the contribution room the following year.
@xoReni
@xoReni Жыл бұрын
The TFSA isn’t tax deductible though!
@annushankar3032
@annushankar3032 Жыл бұрын
@@xoReni that’s fair but my argument is that you can still easily withdraw from the TFSA without having to pay any penalty for any reason, and you’ll regain the contribution room the following year. FHSA is a great investment tool, but if you need the money you’re limited in what you can do if it’s not a home purchase. You can roll it into an RRSP but if you withdraw before 71 you’re paying a tax on it.
