Hi guys, been looking forward to this one for a while following a long period out of print. We take a look at this compact KJV reference Bible, and find out that it's good but not without it's compromises. Buy one here:

I'm getting the large print version of this for Christmas. Considering how small the references are, then the large one is definitely a must.

I just received mine from the TBS US site today. Couldn’t be happier. It’s a wonderfully made Bible. I purchased it after seeing your review as well as the regular size Westminster.

I got the commemorative reformation edition of this Bible, and while I love the color scheme and paper, the text is just too small. If you can only get one good reference Bible for on the go study, its a winner. Otherwise, I would get a large print version for personal reading. On another note, I got a Royal Ruby text bible in the bonded leather, and I'm blown away by how good it is for $20. Creme paper, bold readable 8 point text, 2 column text per page, verse by verse, two ribbons, along with metrical Psalms. It's a joy to read on the go. I've used it a decent amount, and wouldn't hesitate to give it as a gift for someone. Cheers!

Yes I agree that the print in the Compact Westminster is a bit too small, it is also a shame they switched production from Jongbloed to PrintCorp. I’m constantly impressed by TBS Bibles in the whole though. God bless!

Oh I'm so glad you commented about the Royal Ruby in bonded leather! I've been very curious about that one since it's so affordable and includes the metrical psalms, but I haven't been able to find any reviews on it anywhere. I thought it was a 6pt font though! Anyways, if you have any further thoughts about it, I'd be glad to hear them!

They must have changed the printers as I recall seeing a review for a compact that was printed by Jongbloed on here at some point

Love the Westminster in all 3 sizes. Just got the Compact in blue vinyl-over-boards hardcover. Mine does lie flat everywhere, front to back. Such a steal for $19 American. Certainly don't miss the nice concordance found only in the standard size, but I feel a proper reference KJV Bible really ought to include Translators to the Reader, though only the standard size does. Conspicuous by its absence in my delightful Compact. At 7.3, the font forces the reading glasses onto my face, but the Compact fits the hand so nicely that I reach for it at least as often as I do my large print Windsor Text, also in the blue vinyl hardcover. Hardcovers are just a personal preference for reading the WORD at home. If I'm preaching or teaching, give me a nice calfskin Bible. Speaking of which, the Meriva calf on the Westminster is outstanding! Binding it as a pastedown is a perfect choice: the covers are hinged like a hardcover and, like a hardcover, lays flat everywhere right out of the clamshell box. Perfect choice for a reference Bible of this caliber. I am a well satisfied customer.
