The roman church in many ways has created a barrier between Christ and the common believer. God is not christian, catholic, or jewish, etc, and to seek him we need no one to do it for us. Therefore, He would have spoken in Aramaic, Greek and, or even Hebrew dialect. Hence, a bit of a contrast in accents. Unless, your statement should not be taken 'literally.' Which brings me to another point: Literal interpretations of the Holy Scriptures. An adamant - all or nothing - literal interpretation of Sacred Scripture totally misses the mark and meaning of Sacred writ. It is a tragic mistake. On the other hand, wise, careful Biblical exegesis considers and examines a myriad of factors, before coming to conclusions about what is meant in a particular text. Therefore, Scripture is not to be always taken in a literal sense. Brothers and sisters, we would do very well to interpret Scripture exactly as it was intended, by the Holy Spirit inspired writers. Keep in mind important considerations, like genre, historical setting, authors intent, context, original language vs modern usage, etc, etc, when interpreting Scripture. Our Great God and Father gave us incredible minds; we ought to use them for His glory! We ought not to waste them on a traditional, narrow minded, apathetic, ignorant, lazy, stubborn approach to Scripture. When interpreting Sacred Scriptures, let the Holy Spirit teach us. Not tradition; not the latest, greatest christian TV personality; not your pastor, bishop, reverend, etc; nor even 'our most sincere' efforts or approach to Scripture. These typically lead to error, misinterpretation, and misguided, life altering decisions. The Holy Spirit will teach us. But, and this is important: we must be teachable; we must be willing to cast aside long held traditions and beliefs; Most important: Listen, listen, listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying to us. This requires true devotion. Not the legalistic, modern approach. It must be genuine. We must quiet out minds. Absolutely no distractions. No time constraints. Our soul, spirit and body must be at rest. Our hearts and minds completely open to what God out Father, Jesus Christ our Lord, and, or The Holy Spirit will say to us. We must be willing to wait; wait until we hear His beautiful, divine, voice. God is ready to speak. Our part is simply to prepare ourselves to listen. The more we practice this two way relationship; the more we open ourselves up; the more beautiful the results will be. Very similar to what the writers of Scripture experienced.
