There's a fair chance of that happening. France is a MONSTER with that frontcourt. They also have outside shooting from the guards along with some decent passing. The only real advantage the US has is Embiid (if he's healthy) who can maybe score on Rudy and even get him in foul trouble. But if he can't (or if he is the one in foul trouble), France is better than the US 1-5. The Americans have the depth, but I wouldn't be shocked if you saw the French starters play 40 minutes each and own the paint. It'll come down to if the US can hit enough 3s to overcome the size disadvantage AND France's outside shooting. They'll need to be at 45%-50% to have a chance.

Greatness isnt just about how good a player or how stacked a team is, its about impact, dominance, career, story and other factors. Thats why, so far the dream team is still the greatest olympic team ever, as they werent just stacked, but had a worldwide impact, spreading the american image across the globe and making basketball a popular worldwide sport. In order to judge how great of a team the „avengers“ are, we will have to look at them in retrospect in a couple years, to see how they captured the worlds attention.

I don't see any team ever being better than the 1992 Dream Team. The reason is because that team put their egos aside and only cared about winning that gold. That team played together as one, and they did the most important thing. They played defense. There are a few players on this current US squad that don't care to play defense.

This team has the 3rd and 4th place runner ups in the 2024 DPOY race, Ant, Holiday, Embiid, and Kawhi who has won DPOY twice. Tatum and Lebron aren't bad either. They aren't as good as the Dream Team because the players aren't in their prime, but saying they don't care about D is a lie.

@@joshcarsonjc3 Embiid is better than James under any circumstances. The problem is he can't stay healthy. The DNA made LeBron able to outplay anyone by endurance, but in a given game? Embiid is WAY better. Oh yeah, and he's a much better defender than James ever was. James - 27 / 7.5 / 7.5 Embiid - 28 / 11 / 4 Last season Embiid was 35 / 11 / 6. Doesn't help if he's not healthy, but if he is, Philly is going to be unstoppable next year.

I like them being called the Avengers. The Dream Team is more of the Golden Age of 90s cartoons. We all know that the 90s cartoons are stuff that literally influence the world of animation. The international competition back then didn't really get its leg up til the '92 Olympics. This generation's International players are absolutely amazing. I am sorry to be the one to tell you this but they have DISTINCT meanings. * "Full of" refers to possessing or containing a great number or amount. * "All" refers to the whole quantity or extent of something. It can also be used to mean every single member of a group. I advise you to read once in a while to make up for that obvious lack of education and to avoid embarrassing yourself online.

The difference is that the Dream Team at the time had the best players in the world at the time. Right now the best players in the world include international players. Kerr is right.
