The lion in this 1940 Terrytoons classic talks like comedian Bert Lahr. He does bare close resemblance to the later Looey the Lion (in my humble opinion).

This gotta be the best Terrytoons Cartoon I've ever saw . It's funny and sad at the same time. I feel bad for the lion too he's a good character and fun too. He cracks some funny jokes up and good gags . But his situation is much sadder and emotional then a She-ra Episode. I also liked the fight between him and the hunter dolittle very cool and funny. 8.7/10 All tho some coloring mistakes out there and there it's still a good cartoon

This zoo keeper and the trapper are abusive men. He harms the poor animals. This zoo must be closed for animal abuse; and the animals must go to wildlife protection sanctuaries. Animal Cruelty isn't funny.

Not really he got whooped by the hunter reap bad and before being finished off that stuffed head landed on him by accident and thus defeating him in an instant and the lion statues finished him off. I say he was just lucky🍀🎩🪙💫✨️🗝🌈🌙☀️☁️🌠🌟

Honestly I didn't really care for the beginning..only to the point where he was locked up in the cage that's when things got interesting all the way until the end..I actually think that if they hadn't actually showed major dolittle in the beginning and kept his image hidden until they revealed him in the end it would've been more interesting.

Yeah I kinda noticed something not right and not very attractive about this lion until I read the comment section on how ugly he is. But to me he is actually more of a people pleaser than any other cartoon lion I've ever seen.

Terrytoons didn't convert to full color for a while. On the other hand, Disney did in 1935. I understand what Paul terry meant when he said,"Disney is the Tiffanys in this business. I am the Woolworths."
