This song is fascinating when you really put your ear to it. The rhythm carries the melody throughout the entire song. Yet it's never repetitive or overbearing. There's a lot going on within the instrumentation as well as the vocal performances in every section of the TEMPTATIONS song. No part is exactly the same. Everything in this song just seems to totally click. Great composition and recording. It's a masterpiece of our timeless BLACK musical talent and cultures contribution to HUMANITY!

Agree 100%. All the elements of a great R&B song come together here. It’s perfectly executed, making it timeless. Finally the message taught many a young man about how to behave around a lady. Chivalry is hopefully still alive and well.

Otis always had a talent for finding great lead singers & Ali Woodson ranks up there with Ruffin & Edwards in my book as one of the best.
@mrright22883 жыл бұрын
This is some sort of a joke right ? Look, I like Ali Ollie Woodson as much as the next person.. I think that he came along at a time when the group really needed someone to revitalize them.. he provided that energy that the Tempts needed at that particular time, as a result they produced some very fine music... He took advantage of the opportunity that the absence of Edwards, Kendricks and Ruffin afforded him... But he doesn't need to be mentioned in the same conversation with Dennis Edwards and David Ruffin.. David Ruffin is a absolute Legend.. when you talk about profoundly talented R&B artist you start with either David Ruffin or Marvin Gaye... This is not meant to be disrespectful to Ollie Woodson.. but Ollie Woodson knew that he was no David Ruffin... He idolized Ruffin.
@SkammLykelee3 жыл бұрын
I agree. Ali Woodson wasn't with the Tempts during their glory years, but he had the voice and stage presence (swag) worthy to be mentioned with David and Dennis. (RIP all three)

@@mrright2288 After reviewing your statements and declaring that David Tiffin is my favorite singer. But Ali can go. It's Ruffin,Levi, and Ollie and in no particular order as Motown Kings.The three are so bad that who ever you choose, I wouldn't be mad at you.. Ali is in Ruffin and Levi's league.
