Жыл бұрын

The 10 Commandments are recognized as a moral foundation by Judaism, Christianity, and even Islam, because they are based on the natural law. And they are just as relevant today as they were when they were written by the hand of God. Join Fr. Chris Alar, MIC for this discussion of the Ten Commandments and how to use them to perform a thorough examen of conscience before the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Featuring an inspiring story of St. Michael Indian School where God’s teaching is passed on to children of the Navajo nation.
Watch Fr. Chris Alar and the Marian Fathers and Brothers from the National Shrine of Divine Mercy on our new show Living Divine Mercy airing every Wednesday at 6:30pm EST on EWTN. Through teaching segments, Bible and St. Faustina Diary excerpts, as well as real-life examples of people who are living Divine Mercy in their lives, you will learn why Jesus said Divine Mercy is mankind's last hope of salvation! Episode 80: The Ten Commandments

No matter how many times the 10 Commandments are presented and explained to us, the power to change one’s life continues to grow in an open heart, mind and soul. Fr. Chris, without doubt your noble deeds are extraordinarily pleasing to God and my heartfelt thanks for doing everything for our salvation. This great presentation involving the holy works of mercy by St. Katherine Drexel among the native Indians of America is a legacy carefully, gratefully and lovingly appreciated from generation to generation. In addition, Jesus Divine Mercy is working in their lives too with firm belief and trust. Thanks to all who takes part in this episode that gives a lasting joy and foretaste of heaven. Prayers for everyone.

Thank you so much, Fr. Alar. Your drive to make us more loving and obedient to Christ through education works! I'm half Lakota (Sioux). There are many Lakotas who are Catholic. I may be very wrong, but please look at the White Buffalo Calf Woman. Her Child is said to be the White Buffalo Calf (we didn't have sheep). She taught how the family should behave and husbands should respect their wives. Here's a Lakota/Catholic blessing for you, Father Alar: May God surround, embrace, and bless you.

Thank you Father Chris for all the great information about Saint Katharine Drexel. I did not know anything about her, so I did a the little reading which told me that one of her mentors was the great Pope Leo the XIII. What a beautiful legacy she left, especially Saint Michael Indian School in Arizona and Xavier University. It’s amazing and I would love to see this episode re-broadcast in mainstream news, every time the Catholic Church is criticised for not doing enough to assist underserved minority populations of Americans. I have a request Father Chris; would you consider a talk on Pope Leo XIII?

DEAR FATHER CHRIS. I PRAY AND HOPE YOU ARE WELL. PLEASE COULD YOU TELL ME OF MAKING A CROSS OUT OF PALMS ON PALM SUNDAY IS ALLOWED AND ACCEPTABLE BY OUR CATHOLIC CHURCH. MY MOTHER WHO IS 77 YEARS OLD JUST MESSAGED ME AND SAID THAT SHE HEARD THE FOLLOWING.. I SHALL QIUTE HER.. "Today at Mass, Father explained & requested that we should not make cross out of palm, which we get on Palm Sunday... Palms were used to Welcome Jesus with Cries "Hosanna in the Highest".... Which is a cry of praise and also means Save us... But when we make a cross out of the palm we convert Palm Sunday into "Good Friday" and showing the cross would mean "Crucify him"... Someone made a cross out of palm way back and that was followed and became a tradition, it is time we change these old traditions... " Please don't make a cross out of Palm, this Palm Sunday. He request to go home and share this with others, hence posting It." DEAR FATHER CHRIS PLEASE GUIDE ME SO THAT I IN TURN CAN GUIDE MY MOTHER.

The Commandment says not to kill. How can we justify killing in war? There were no addendums.
@DivineMercy_Official
@DivineMercy_Official Жыл бұрын
Actually the literal translation is you shall not murder. To kill and murder are slightly different because killing in self defense or in defense of one's country is defined as permissible by both the Bible and the catechism of the Catholic church. God bless
