Agree with you 100% on the wolves. We hunt around Leech/Winnie and I’ve been out almost every night. Only two fawns the whole season. I know quite a few people around the area who haven’t even seen a deer this year. Politics never should of gotten into wolf management. They need to have population control, just like every other animal. Idiots in the city making decisions for up here. Pisses me right off! Makes me wonder how long people will keep the tradition going if they don’t shoot any deer.

Always enjoy your videos especially deer camp. I sure wish your Wildlife Resources folks would get orgainized and start managing the game in your state. Control those predators! Growing up we had lots of grouse and quail here in Virginia now you hardly ever see them but we have plenty of deer and turkeys. In my opinion Grouse is some of the best table fare in the woods.

We have a similar issue with the coyotes here in north Jersey. Been hunting 53 years and the population has gone downhill. We have a season to hunt them but don’t seem to many hunters try to help correct the issue. Don’t give up your tradition for any reason Joe. You will still find them. I have a friend who has deer hunted northern Minnesota every year for the last 15 years. This was the first year where he didn’t even see any deer sign up there. No pictures on trail cam, no tracks, no droppings. Nothing. Tons of wolf sign though. Until the DNR does something about the wolfs, I’m afraid deer hunting will be worthless in that area

I live by minnesota river bottom and first day deer hunting seen 9 all in bean fields. Not as many hunters this year as last year and I think the winter we had did a number on the deer. Love all the videos

Always love these videos this time of year! Deer or no deer. The wolves up there seem to have taken over. It's like the hawks and seagulls here (Northern NH). We haven't had a single pigeon in this city in decades. I remember the pigeon population was insane when I was a kid. Now, the hawks and seagulls took over.

Joe I have a camp on the river in south Louisiana and the memories I bring back home from the camp is way I live a lifestyle that does not require me to take a vacation.

Missed a little of the excitement and anticipation that comes with Zach and Sarah being at the tent but certainly one of my favorite videos of the year along with duck camp. What timing! Just got settled into my camp for deer camp in northern WI!

Twincities has deer moose. Cougar. Lots turkeys I have counted 20 plus coyotes I have had them at screen door. There moving in lots food no pressure from danger But I think turkeys push the deer times are changing God bless

Too many fires this year in our area, lots of cabins gone. Including ours unfortunately but no lives lost and that's more important. (Northern, Ontario Canda)

I ran into 3 grouse standing by a puddle while deer hunting by Ely. 2 ruffled and a spruce. I started to walk around them when one spooked and ran into another. That started a pretty funny grouse fight. I was literally 3 ft away. They acted like I wasn't there.

I enjoy the Grouse hunting as much as the Deer hunting, but being at the Tent is the best. I agree, Wolves are the problem. More wolves, less deer, simple.

Been some nice deer shot around here in Quebec Canada! So far I have 3 coyotes to skin. Ive only seen does and fawns! Heading out to the stand in the morning! Happy hunting

That diesel heater is the cat’s meow 😸!

That heater might help get enough warm air into the bedroom so that you can get a good nights sleep on the first night. I find when we get up to our place in the mountains during the winter, the mattress doesn't have a chance to warm up until the second night and it's like sleeping on ice the first night.

Great video, enjoyed it. I really feel for you on the lack of deer. It makes for a real frustrating time. We have not seen any at our cabin since early summer. I am blaming it on the wolf population we have here in South central Wisconsin. Good luck next weekend!

If you keep a large volume of sourdough starter, you can avoid the initial levain, just feed the starter early and add the weight of starter, makes the process much faster and works well. I make bread, bagels, and soft pretzels.

Been watching your videos for years. Cant wait for the deer hunting video. Thats to bad your not seeing deer sign. Something needs to be down about the wolves. I deer hunt by hill city and there in a wolf problem in some areas there to. Not as bad as ware you are.

When I make bread in machine, I sneak under dough when ending mix cycle. To remove paddle. This makes slicing bread alot nicer.

Problem is unless a bounty put on wolves not many will hunt them.Takes lots of bait and good wolf hounds to even see them.Then you got the tree huggers that say don't shoot the wolves.Anyhow on my 11th day of deer hunt now.I live off grid in log cabin so I just walk out the door.I have let 3 doe and one spike go so far hopefully something decent walks out in next3days or I will have to get with bow.I can hunt until Dec 13th with bow.Good luck from Canada.

Sad to say i haven't watched ur show in a while but im glad to see your dad is doing well. I would probably just stop deer hunting and eat the price of the deer tag and just start grouse hunting this year.
