The overall review has helped me (re)discover the book that has been on my shelf for decades already. I built characters via the pointgen method for years but never got beyond that. Maybe finally I will.

Vid question: I firmly believe that the endpoint of taking responsibility for one's actions and inactions is of much greater import than the too often moral bankruptcy of citing evil forces as the true culprit. Whether it was a demon or just an idea in one's head - listening and following through and thus the resposibility is on the transgressor. Free Will means the consequences are soley upon the the person who FREELY chose to do evil. In this, the "evil forces" are moot to me; man gives them the power thus man is resposible.

I can neither confirm, nor deny, being a listener of Blurry Creatures and The Confessionals (podcasts that are also here on KZfaq). Are there 'dark minions' here on Earth that inspired the fiction? Certainly. Modern scientific knowledge has only allowed us to more deeply understand how little we actually know about the universe.

QotV: I'd go the route of "all of the above" & "then some", seeing that most world religions mentioned "evil spiritual forces" of some form or other, likely if any exists, many or all exist. Lovecraft's Elder Gods are what arguably be the "tip of the iceberg" in terms of true cosmic horror.

No dark minions .... I think the "evil that lurks in the hearts of men" or at least some of our fellow humans is enough for me.

My personal beliefs are that dark forces are what influence people to do wrong. Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

QotV: I believe there are spiritual forces, angels and demons, that can show up to the normal person through a variety of ways. I think that there is alot witin the spiritual realm that we cannot see and do not understand.

Honestly, I believe in residual and collective malice. There are areas I tend to avoid because of it. Also I believe that objects/locations can be imprinted with bad emotions or haunted, which is why I refused to accept the chair my brother was sitting in when he shot himself. That being said, the dark minion I have the most problems with are the will-fully foolish who spend their day comitting violence in the name of "protesting" which they use as an excuse for their bad behaviour while making themselves tools for corporate interests and undermining family values and society.

Evil entities exist and roam the earth. I do not blame my actions on them. But they are working to get this world under their control and be worshipped. Most people won't recognize it but if you invite the wrong thing into your home you could be inviting evil. I had friends growing up that got into seances and ouija boards. The stories that they can tell are frightening. But I also think that some things have power because you give them power in your life.
