Corporate ownership is the real problem not the location of the owning company. Any time corporate profits are the interest then any ability to have integrity with journalism is impossible.

We should have a fleet of choppers and planes for fighting fires with dedicated, employed and well paid fire fighting staff ready for deployment all around the country. That we don't and that we still borrow(hire) these aircraft is pathetic. Well prop up the American submarine industry with a $5b injection this week but won't work out for protection from bush fires. Every Australian government in my lifetime has failed on this front. Useless...all of them.

If you haven’t seen the address to the National Press Club recently by Yanis Varoufakis I highly recommend it. He destroys the paranoia around China and rationally discusses Russia. You really get a sense of how lacking our politicians are.

Yanis was very good. But I have to pull you up on the politicians comment. Yeah, they're not great. But that's our fault. Blaming the politicians is a cop out. The truth is, if a politician came along that told us the truth, we'd vote for the other guy. It's our lazy, tax fearing entitlement that has delivered the politicians we deserve.

No. MW is implying these deaths are because of intentionally targetting and murdering journalists. No one even mentions the rockets being shot back at Israel which aren't killing as many because Israel invests in defense via the Iron Dome. Instead of building rocket systems in hospitals, human shield defensive system.

All to do with the University funding model introduced by the Howard government. To stingy to fund education for all turned it into Western Diplomas for the 3rd world as long as they paid for it. I just rewatched Keating’s address to the National press club a year ago after seeing Yanis Varoufakis give his address recently. It brings into harsh reality that Australia could be getting ready to ride another economic boom by joining the belt and road initiative that is bringing prosperity to so many countries around the world. Yet, we’ve chosen to go all in with a dying empire and the number one terrorist nation in the world, America, supporting its proxy war with Russia and a genocide in Palestine.
