It's hilarious that the Tesseract has been viewed as a separate cosmic power only to reveal that it's a container of the Space Stone.

It has power too . The stone is like a battery and the tesseract is infant cosmic energy. Space stone moves you across space but tesseract energy powered weapons.

Would love to see how the Space Stone and Mind Stone ended up in their casings. It was honestly one of the best retcons of our time. I also really wanna see the Infinity Stones make a return for Secret Wars.

Marvel Phase 1,2 & 3 worked because it was leading to one goal (The infinity stones) after phase 4 started every characters seems to have different problems & goals. I don't know if they can ever bring back crazy hype & deliver it in upcoming avengers movies like before! Nothing can beat the Avengers 1,2,3 & 4!

It was recovered offshore by Howard Stark and was in the possession of SHIELD, then mar-vel got it when she joined SHIELD and used it to make the light speed engine. I think she took it to her lab at some point after that
