UNPOPULAR OPINION! I see everyone praising the women for how they got their pound of flesh. No one has talked about how they got themselves into the mess in the first place and how they shouldn't have gotten into such a mess. Women! You don't do marriage duties in a relationship! Keep parts of you to yourself. The courtship phase of a relationship is meant for "knowing each other". Don't do the extra bit of cooking, cleaning, having sex and cohabiting! Sex blinds you to the reality of things. Sex when introduced early in a relationship causes more harm than good. Your sense of judgement gets impaired. There's the right way to do things. Just because something is popular or looks like it's the norm doesn't make it right. Save yourself the headaches. Premium tears is never fun. This also applies to the male folk! @@stellagyan8200 in Igbo, there's the song we sing, "metu onye di mma enyi, maka olulu"....meaning make friends with a good person with marriage in view (with regards to relationship). There's always the sign....often more than not these signs are in our faces but because we have thrown caution to the wind, we make excuses. If it's happening in the relationship, it will get worse when/if you marry them. As long as the seedling is visible in courtship, rest assured that it would bloom in marriage. About not taking care of a man when he's broke....hmmmm. This one is dicey but then again, if you have a good man, you will know. A good man with a vision is worth helping and investing in. (UNPOPULAR OPINION but I strongly believe it). One more thing though, there are mindsets that keep us locked up. The subconscious mind is illogical and has a way of preparing tables you didn't knowingly ask for...simple put as a man thinks so is he... meaning we manifest what we think (I wish I could elaborate further but it's an epistle already). I don't know if it's because I'm much older now, or because I was raised to have a lot of self-worth for myself, but I strongly feel that in this day and age, financially dependent women(most especially) should know that they have CONTROL over their own bodies, and exercise that control, even in a marriage. This is the lesson I took from the movie. We still allow patriarchy to govern our decisions.
