After Reed Richards had gone into the future, they would do so to see how humanity plays out. However, the more they went into the future the more they would witness Ben Grimm's Death.

Amazing, you mispronounced every year of each consecutive millennium. It's not "twentytwelve, thirtytwelve, fourtytwelve, fiftytwelve, sixtytwelve. It's two thousand twelve, three thousand twelve, four thousand twelve, five thousand twelve, and six thousand twelve. I have a strong belief it should be said that way because back before the double digit years, we NEVER said "twenty O O, twenty O one and so forth.

4000 weeks is pretty much 77 years. And he was likely in his 30’s when he got the powers. But it also took some time for them to develop the serum to allow him to be human for a week. So this checks out. His human age was probably between mid 80’s to early 90’s when he died.

All your likes lol. The thing lives 4000 years. You got 4000 weeks is 77 years from that somehow? Then the video says the thing only ages in his human form. Meaning as thing he doesn't age at all. However the thing only turned back human one time for less than a day and decided to go back to the thing to help protect the world. What I got from this and your comment is the video doesn't make sense so it through off your comment but at least your math maths lol. @@hellboyj31 it’s specifically from the Johnathan Hickman fantastic four comics. The movies kind of made their own version of this. But the comics show them make a “serum” and it makes him turn human for one week of the year. So everything checks out. Also he ages at such a slow speed as the thing it’s pretty much zero since it’s like a rock aging so yes to answer that question he does only age as a human. The maths math since Hickman was very exact with his stuff. I was shocked about this too and had to confirm with my local comic nerd.

Honestly, that's a really good ending for Ben. He lived a hard life as a Hero, risking his life quite often while isolated from the one's he protected do to his condition. And immortality isn't as wonderful as it sounds, ask Deadpool or Wolverine, he saw all of his friends, which could understand him, going one after the other. But having the opportunity to age, even if quite slow, and have a resemblance of a normal life, and even the opportunity to life a normal life once a Year, must be a unbelievable valuable feeling for him. And at the end, going peaceful in his sleep, is a privilege not many Great Heroes get...

ima just say it, Reed Richards NEEDS a redemption arc that firmly solidifies him as one of the greatest heroes of his time. he needs an arc where he has a true and blue come to God moment that causes him to forgoe his more....unsavory tendencies, one where he chooses family, friends, and heroics over his ever-present need to know more at any cost. the man has many flaws but the character deserves to be redeemed. it could be a wonderfully epic story, and Doom would play no small part. way I see it, Doom would damn near be the one to orchestrate it all as a boon to his favorite God-daughter (with Valeria, that term takes on a whole new meaning lol) in an effort to "give her her daddy back" type of thing. Doom would ultimately give Reed the speech of a lifetime that only Doom could, and Reed would finally be healed and redeemed. will it happen? probably not, but damn it would be amazing.

Well Reed must have been able come up with the base off the restorative solution, but because of the unique physiology of the Thing. Reed must have finally confirmed that what he all ready knew the thing was practically immortal. Reed knew that there were ways to alter Ben’s DNA back to human, because it had been done so in the past temporarily by the likes of Dr. Doom, The Leader, Galactus, even Reed has from time to time. But nothing could hold. This trip only confirmed what Reed probably knew all along that there was no cure. Just momentary relief from his Thing body and the ability to die of old age. That was way Reed was obsessed with time travel all these years. He had to know and confirm the one thing that he promised his friend from the beginning. That he would cure him. With confirmation of Ben’s time line he knows for sure that he can never completely reverse his condition and keep his promise. That was what truly was breaking Reed’s heart. Even Franklin can’t cure Ben, even with all his immense power.
