The Things I hate about the PGYTECH OneMo and why it is still the best location backpack

After Months of serious use, Shooting daily, taking it in and out of the car 5-10 times a day. Hicking in the ozarks, shooting events. Location portrait sessions. High school sports, commercial product photography and videography. I feel I can give some good feed back on the OneMo back pack made by PGYTECH. This camera backpack may be a Peter Mckennon Nomadic serious threat. It is at leas real compation and a bag many should at least look at. It has a clean outside look that rivals Peak Design and other great bags.

I really appreciate the actual details. Especially from someone who actually uses there gear vs the guy who just collects bag or what ever just to have it.

Thanks for the honesty. My main thing is saving my shoulders from lots of heavy gears when it’s fully loaded for traveling. How well does the hip straps help with taking off some of the load from the shoulders? Thanks!

The excuse they have for a hip strap shouldn't even be considered one Yes it nominally does help but it is nowhere near what many other bags have. It is literally just a half inch wide nylon webbing strap, there's no real support to it It will pull the load tighter close to your lower back but yeah......

Iʻm trying to decide between the Shimoda Explore 30 V2 backpack and the PGYTech Onemo 30L backpack. What are your thoughts? I need a bag to carry my Canon R6, 24-70 and 70-200mm lenses and assorted accessories while traveling (city walks in Europe) and especially meet the airlines requirements for carry on. Your comments would be really appreciated.

I have not had the opportunity to try the Shimoda, thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I will point out that one of the strong points of the PGY Tech is after the straps are put up the bag is very sleek as in a way of not getting hung up things. It is easy to throw into the back seat of a car. Under a seat, ECT. It can hold a fair amount of gear. I will note the side access ports are not the easiest to get a camera body and lens in and out. I only use them for lens access, flash, smaller sleek items. The material doesn't pack dirt like many others and super easy to wipe clean. All in all it is still a bag I like to use. It is the most comfortable backpack I have ever had. However I have probably only had 10-15 backpacks my whole life. Hope this helps. Thanks again for watching and taking the time to comment. Have a great day.

An idea for your laptop pocket before you cut out that pouch!!! Take it to a seamstress or whatever and have them add magnets. Use that pouch for notebooks to make storyboards, taking notes, travel documents, contracts, day planner, or whatever 🤷🏽‍♂️ If you don't like magnets!?!? Add Velcro, zipper, chewing gum 😏 Whatever works to make it stick 🤣🤣

That magnetic pocket in the front is for the accessory straps. Works great. Also sometimes if I have a wet jacket or travel towel I pull it through there to hang and dry, I just throw the straps on the bag, which work great for bulkier wet things.

Do you ever use the extra shoulder bag. That’s a big reason I am looking at this bag. It seems like it’s be nice to be able to remove the shoulder bag with a price of kit you know your not going to use that day really quickly without having to reorganize or think about it too much. Then you can keep it a little lighter when possible. I’m thinking of putting my drone stuff in it or all my GoPro stuff etc. then I can just slide it out if I know I’m not going to use it that day

I do have to ask about the other comments suggesting to store SD cards in the magnetic compartments. Don't SD cards and magnets not mix?

in the pocket for the shoulder straps, you can store SD cards, and probably 2 extra batteries. or your ID, CC, or Vape Pen :)

That has to weigh 40 pound the way you load that with lap top and all.

Feels heaver then that sometimes. LOL Ya it is easy to overload this bag and I try and not have to carry it that far when it is fully loaded. However it is nice for those weekend shoots having this much gear in one trip to a central or base location.
