My favourite scene from 1944's Disney's animation movie "The Three Caballeros" . A very beautiful and artistic depiction of the state of Bahia, Brazil. And a beautiful song by Ary Borosso. I don't own this, all credits belong to Disney.

Mary Blair was the colorist on this. She is by far my favorite artist. Her colors are so amazing and varied. She also did Ichabod and Mr. Toad, Alice in Wonderland and the It's a Small World ride.

When I first saw this sequence, I couldn't tell if this was animated or live-action. That's the magic of the multiplane camera I suppose.

It just shows how great the Disney animators were in this scene plus what Ub Iwerks on the technical side contributed during the film as well.

I wonder is someone bumped one of the glass panes as at around 2:17 the palm tree on the right jerks slightly. The movie also coincidentally predicted the introduction of Eurasian Collared Doves into the New World in this segment. That event would not take place for another 10 years or so when they were found somewhere in the Caribbean.

I wouldn’t go to Bahia now. It’s one of the most dangerous places in Brazil. Rio and Brazilia would better suit you.

I am from Bahia, Salvador. Bahia and Salvador are really beuatiful, but very diferrent than this scene. Now Salvador is a city with 2.5million people and a lot of buildings and trafic, but stil with magic and beautiful beachs.

For the longest time I regretfully had never even heard of this movie. But I saw José and Panchito from a piece of media and I decided to see if I could watch this movie and this was by far my favorite song from that movie. The visuals are gorgeous and the song managed to worm it's way into my own heart.

This turns 80 this year! It's strange to think this joyous movie came out in 1944 during WW2. Such different times, so interesting. This movie captured my imagination in many ways and sparked my curiosity for traveling ever since I was a child especially with scenes like this, all the little cute stories along the way and the psychedelic trippy ending. Fantastic sense of wonderment in this movie. Such beautiful images here, Bahia must have been so gorgeous back when this was made, obviously it's still gorgeous, but I figure it looked more naturally beautiful back then with quaint buildings, I would love to jump in a time machine and go that time and place, just for a bit... with this song playing of course!

Disney wasn't perfect in Walt's lifetime but the films that worked and held up to this day are still better then current Disney same with the ones from the late 1980s to early 2000s. Not all of them were great but the ones that were are iconic.

When I was little bro I remember watching this part of the movie and rewatching it so many times because of how beautiful and unreal it was, often sometimes I thought about how that might’ve been my life if some things were different and that maybe this is what Love visually looked like when you looked deep into someone else’s soul and I wanted that so bad for myself ever since that I always referred to this scene.

The song is called Na Baixa do Sapateiro (in the shoemakers hollow), there are several versions from artists like Caetano Veloso, Carmen Miranda or Gal Costa but this particular version I have yet to find. Only here on KZfaq.

I have tried watching this movie the last few go arounds looking for what the opening statement on the Disney Plus streaming version of this is referring to. I can't find it. Now, if they had put a bunch of dumb smelly stupid people in this movie that would be stereotyping Latin American culture. But this entire movie is just one big amazing celebration of the beauty of Mexican and Brazilian culture.
