@@BC08sorry, have to disagree on this. He's stated that he would have done better, but his budgets were cut quite a bit. He couldn't help it, plus why should we judge another person's work when it's unlikely that we'd do better. To be judged on your work poorly would probably place you under a heavy feeling of unhappiness, let's not put that on a man who tried to give us quality TV, I thoroughly enjoyed 13's entire era.

I think that's part of the reason why it's so hard to write for the show today - whereas in the past it was just about sending script-drafts into the Doctor Who office. It's a shame.

I mean for long lasting characters and franchises they are essentially fanfics after the original creators leave. At this point 99% of all comics are fanfics since the big characters creators are either not working on them, retired or dead

@@brewster_4That won't happen. Russell is very talented and proven with his 4 seasons of the show that he knows how to make a great story. I think it's safe to say he won't disappoint.

@@brewster_4Russell T Davies built that show from the ground up and made it more inclusive and no one gave a damn because he wrote it so damn well. Moffat made some of the best and worst Dr Who episodes. Chibnall ran the viewership and overall appeal into the ground with poor writing and people could attack the quality for what it was and people were far less supportive of the whole cast as a result. Most people are not going to give a tenth of a damn about wokeness or whatever if the quality goes back to its peak from 2005-2013. If its a continuation of the laziness and poor quality of recent years next to no one is going to protect the show from such accusations, no matter how poorly warranted they are because like under Chibnall next no one will like it enough to defend it except a different batch of ideologues.

I gotta say, the mixing of the soundtracks underneath the sound of their voices in the interview was so perfectly balanced, since usually background music is rather hushed up in interviews, it felt so perfectly present without distracting from their words. It was magical.

They wrote for Doctor Who and collaborated at different times, including the spin-offs. Regardless of what you make of their eras, or their writing styles in general, the three showrunners have a strong friendship.

I actually really enjoyed Segun's themes, like the 13th Doctor's or the Sonic Screwdriver, has a really good atmosphere to it, and not overly bombastic just enough, kind of whimsical/enchanting I also really enjoy some of Murray Gold's early doctor who stuff which has more electronic feel to it, like in the parting of the ways

@@magnusmights2265 Ehhh, completely retconning the Doctor's entire origins nearly 60 years after the show began isn't exactly what I'd consider a "good idea." Chibnall's run had a lot of potential completely squandered by the worst development in Doctor Who's entire history, and it's impossible to look past.

I love that they're talking about Logopolis and City of Death, joking that "we don't really think modern Dr. Who counts." These guys are fans of the original show same as me, and that's brilliant. I think that's why they were able to capture the spirit of it while still adapting it for contemporary audiences so well.

If we could get a full series with RTD writing the characters, Chibnall coming up with the overarching Plot Ideas, and Moffat writing the actual scripts (i.e. the pacing and dialogue), I mean HOLY WOW would we have something incredible.

Yeah but then we'd land up with all the companions being the most important person in the universe, and always falling in love with the handsome young Doctor. I wish they would have companions that aren't all young women from current day Britain. The original series had Jamie, Zoe, Leela, Romana, Tegan, etc. who were from different continents, time periods, or even alien worlds.

Some people in the comment sections yet again feel the need to demonstrate that they haven't understood what Doctor Who is all about. I can only Thank you three from the bottom of my heart for bringing your fanfictions alive and on TV for one new generation after another to enjoy :) May Doctor Who never be cancelled again!

3:37 RTD saying how he always wants the score to be loud. To be honest, there were definitely episodes (mostly in the Moffat era, as I recall) where the score was too loud and negatively impacted hearing the dialogue clearly.

Probably why everyone in RTD episodes had to shout. I remember Tennant's first year, I called him McShouty because all he did was shout. He seemed to calm down some as the series progressed.

Some people like all three. Some like only two. Some may only like one. And even some who don't like any of them at all. All are equally valid. And thats ok. We're all Doctor Who fans.
