Well, Curly also appeared in a deleted scene from the short, Malice in the Palace as the cook, but, Jules White requested the scene cut since Curly didn't look good, as the story goes.

Thanks for the episode information. By the way, in "Pardon, my backfire." is with version 3D right through the 4th wall. Also in "Spooks", when 3 detective goes rescue the young girl was kidnapped by madman medic and his accomplice.

8:38-9:07 Hold That Lion is my all time favorite Shemp short. It was a joy to see him, Moe and Larry with Curly after his debilitating career-ending stroke in Half-Wits Holiday. I weep tears of joy every time I see that segment 😊

Shemp was the most successful Stooge. He played heavies in gangster movies. Shemp returned to the Stooges after younger brother Curly had a stroke and later died.

I agree. His one-liners, ad-libs and quick wit actually made their humor smarter. Curly is a legend but way too silly, broad and slapstick. Shemp kinda toned them down and brought a balance to their schtick.

The first time I ever saw the routine we watch with Shemp around 40:52-42:15, it was hilarious. Unbeknownst to me, it would first appear in the episode 'An Ache In Every Stake' with Curly--albeit it didn't have some of the extra stuff we see with Shemp, here. As a kid, I didn't get the "Separate 2 eggs." part, but, my dad found it hilarious--mostly because I was like "The cook book said to separate 2 eggs & that's exactly what Shemp did." & my dad was like "That's not the type of separating the cook book called for, exactly...".

That one where they tell the “kids” the story of the haunted house scared the crap outta me when I was a kid!!! I remember I couldn’t sleep all night! Because of the 3 stooges, me and my brother put our baby brother in a cardboard box and sent him down the stairs. Good thing they made cardboard nice and sturdy back then. He was no worse for the dangerous prank. He was an INFANT!!!

I don't know if anyone else noticed this blooper. In "of cash and hash" the robber eating in the cafe doesn't have a mustache, but soon after, in the deserted house he does. I've never seen a mustache grow that fast.
